I loved the arcades back in the day. Every one I was ever at was plastered with no refunds.

Is that "house rules" sign a caddyshack reference? Noice

Getting everything cleaned up for league/club party this Saturday, my father in law and I ran sub panel so each machine gets its own outlet. Additionally a cable line and network cable so TV on wall has full access to all our music, movies and cable programming. TV is not pictured, but is above fridge to right of IJ93. Pins are also split up due to room, but it gives us pinball on upper, main, and basement. RFM cab has SWE1 in right now, I have new PF for RFM so that is next project.

Definitely nice...games look in awesome condition too.

Did you ever consider getting some color DMD's for your games? My buddy just put one in his TZ and said he didn't like it. No idea why.

I agree that volkdrive has a very nice collection but I would suggest looking to add a JJP machine to the list of machines in the collection...

I've always liked WOZ since I first played it. Not easy to find one up here one the secondary market in VG condition. That would be first choice, see what #4 is. I do like their product. Just no way it would be up or down any stairs. Those units are tanks!

I have a WOZ. I love the game and so does many of my friends. But I will say it is a heavy beast and I'm so glad I don't have stairs.

Dang it must be sweet to have a nice working Tron machine. I put a lot of quarters in that one back in the day. I want to get the controls set up to replicate it in MAME.

Thanks guys! I think its fun to take pictures of us playing games

I built that Tron from scratch and scoured the country for used parts, it took a long time, it actually runs mame and has every game from that time period that utilizes the spinner and the joystick, I'm using an original Joystick from top to bottom with the exception of the handle that is a beautiful repro. You really need the original joystick to play Tron just right, other wise you will have a very hard time, Tron is hard as nails as it is, but I love the challenge.

The Tempest next to it has the (Clay Cowgill?) Multi-Tempest Installed, but most of the time it just runs V3.

The Street fighter C.E. next to that has every Street Fighter game from the first all the way to SFIV A.E. as well as a host of many many other games from NES, SNES, mame, PC Engine and so on... about 4000+ games very nicely organized with the nice Hyperspin Front end. I have hundreds of hours in its configuration, and it shows when you go to select a game, everything is very easy to find, my 4 year old has no trouble finding his favorite "Super Mario" And its using an original 27" arcade monitor. It only plays games that uses a joystick and up to 6 buttons per player, if a game uses any other control scheme that needs more that what is on the control panel, it got removed. (Yes I know the control panel graphic is screwed up, LOL)

I'll post some more of my (finished projects) games soon, just thought you guys would like to see and know some of the info behind them.

Get some carpet sliders for the legs on those games! (unless you're trying to discourage nudging or death saves)

    #8924 6 years ago

would it be possible to move your screen down and put the center channel above it? i feel like nobody is going to be able to hear it with it on the floor.

    #8925 6 years ago

Nope you can hear it just fine, just waiting for my stand to tilt it up a little.

I'm hoping to do something similar in the next 18 months.

If you don't mind me asking, how big is the projector screen and how far back to the first row of chairs?

    #8933 6 years ago

Thanks. It's a 150" screen, seats are 13.5 feet away per Epson's recommendation for the projector.

I have dozens of arcade marquees that I'd like to hang on painted walls, what would be the best way to do this without putting any holes in the walls? I'm thinking it's probably those adhesive Velcro strips, has anyone used these? Will the adhesive damage the printing on back of the marquee if I should I need to remove it?

I think there's a good chance of marquee getting damaged if you use those Velcro strips and attempt to remove them one day.

What about an option like this? It's a picture ledge that hangs up with command scripts. No holes in your walls, no adhesive on your marquees. I use three of these to display action figures in my game room and haven't had any issues with them.

    #8938 6 years ago

Not a bad idea, except for the cost of each.... at 25-35 marquees, that's going to get very pricey.

Can I ask what chairs those are and how much you paid? I need some for my theater, but only two rows of 3.

I'm hoping to be able to set up a similar Mame machine that includes a spinner (for Tron and Breakout and possibly others) and a joystick that can work with Tron and Zaxxon. From what I have read they both use 8-way joysticks, but you are right, there is something special in the setup for the Tron version that lets it work with the lightcycle game. You have to be able to have precise control for 4 directions only for that one I believe. Have you checked to see if Zaxxon works good with your Tron stick?

We put enough quarters in that &*#*# Tron game back in the day to darn near beat the thing. I would love to get a shot at it again. This time, no quarters!!!

Oh and there must be a good trackball also for Centipede/Millipede and others.

    Some great game rooms here.

I belong to the "limited space" club and had to integrate what I have into our downstairs family living area. It works for us.

Tron has a wild underside design for its joystick; it is an 8-way leaf stick with a diagonal restrictor, I have not had much success playing Zaxxon with it, then again I'm not good at Z anyway, maybe you or others could have good success.

Centipede... mine has all the track ball games; Rambo 3, crystal castles, missile command (modified the control panel to have all 3 base buttons, as well as the graphic to support it), and plenty of others

Finally built my dream collection after 10+ years, still planning to add MOPLE and CCC and then I'm calling it done. The games are in multiple rooms, STLE will squeeze in next to Shadow soon.

Thanks, I'd still like to squeeze in a CC and maybe a TOTAN. I also yearn for another IJ pinball adventure, I miss that game. Running out of space, what an addictive and expensive hobby! No regrets, though.

This is the start of my room. Not even a year yet, maybe I should see someone. The hobbit is obese and staying on the ground level.

Addams is out for restoration so, in the meantime, Spidey slides into the screening room and my home office slides into the pin space. Just a one bedroom- minimalist here.
