Ohhh man, if I could program my own personal messages into Billy Bob and Chuck E to repeat to my guests....people probably never heard Chuck E drop the f bomb before...

I actually have a device inside of Billy that is programmable. I currently have it playing the Showbiz theme song. However, it can be programmed for custom speech like swear words etc

Nice addition, but I hope you had someone help you. Those are too heavy for just one person.

Yes sir! Almost sold to someone else but the first buyer was advised it wasn't the right game for his grandkids, which I would agree with. Many thanks to Robert and D&D Pinball.

I just moved a few months ago and got 6 pins set up in my new basement game room. No artwork yet. Garage arcade is just starting to come together with the rest of the games. The biggest bummer is I didn't realize until I got the games down the stairs was that the ceiling is so low and had to remove some toppers to set up the games. We had a speakeasy themed party 2 weeks ago and I snapped a few pix:

Is this the same game room in this video? If so, did you change it up or buy the house from somebody else who had a game room down there?

    #8566 6 years ago

Wondering if any of you guys with multicades or homebuilt MAME setups in your gamerooms are running the 3dArcade frontend? I've put a lot of work into virtual cabinet artwork, both pinball and video, for 3dArcade and it's very satisfying to hear of someone actually using and enjoying it.

    * If you aren't familiar with it, here's a crude walkthrough video. There are many more arcades and cabinets available than are shown in it, most of those shown are generic.

Same house, just changed the line up a bit!

I have 2 Mamecades that I built, both run Hyperspin as the front end.

Here is my game room.. or lack there of.

A blank slate! This thread is great for ideas. What seems to be the best overhead lighting solution for a pinball room?

^^Paint the ceiling flat black. Now's the time to do it. Doing a black ceiling will give your room depth in the height - if that makes any sense. And, if you need to add extra electrical circuits (you will) it makes it very convenient.

For overhead lights, I used can lights placed evenly around the room except for above the pins. Whatever light you place there will glare off the PF glass and be irritating. Be very cautious about lighting above the pins.

    what about drywall?!?

Haha there is definitely going to be drywall and insulation. We just bought this new construction so I'll start on the basement after the property taxes have been assessed.

Agree with this with one exception. Put a row of can lights over the pins on a separate switch so you can turn it on to service them and off to play. We just finished a basement remodel where we painted the ceiling black and used can lights everywhere. Looks great. I'm waiting for the last finishing touches and then I'll post pics.

that would be the last thing i would ever put on a basement ceiling . can never get in there to run wires , make repairs .

That is basically the 3 game setup I would love! I should have my Rob Zombie in the next couple of weeks. Now I just have to decide if I wanna let my Fish Tales go for a ghostbusters or TWD. Everytime the thought comes up it scares me because I'm certain I would miss it

I meant the walls! But unless there is plumbing lines in the ceiling, you won't need back in the ceiling after you rough in the electrical wires(Unless you change up where the lights and plugs go often!) So I'd drywall the lid too! People dont always like to lose the 4 inches of ceiling height suggested for suspended ceilings.

If you decide to do it, I would definitely go TWD. Ghostbusters won't have a lasting spot here.

Well in your picture that big long room is only part of your basement so put in a nice bar in there and finish it like that. Then she can have another part of the basement done the way she likes. You get the biggest part because well face it bars and pinball games take up a lot of room. If you two are ever up this way some weekend your welcome to check my place out, pictures don't do it justice. How big is that room? I wish mine was that big.

There's room for a TBL and maybe a random other one in there. Then we start getting into laws of physics issues.

The plans were designed to have two bedrooms towards the back there with a closet and bathroom on the other side of the frame. We have no clue if we want to add more rooms so we figure we will just put some drywall up all around and some flooring for the time being. One of my good friends lives in Minneapolis and I'm about due to go visit him so I'll be sure you PM you whenever I'm able to get up there. Would love to see (and play!) your collection. Thank you for the invitation.

Laws of physics are easily circumvented by smashing down an adjacent wall. Your TOTAN looks really nice btw.
