    Quoted from weaverj:

was there ever a state championships of game rooms? we would have a registration period of a week, then we'd vote on our favorite from each state. it would be pretty cool, to see where we rank on a state level to see how far we need to go.
i'm officially proposing this. it would go much smoother with some help from pinside, i believe. something on the main page, at least a stickie on the forums.

It would be interesting, but what do you rank it on? Decor, use of space, lighting, overall coolness? Or quality of games and amount?

up to the voter. basically like political elections: anything goes. i guess we could suggest recommendations, but who's going to listen to those.

    #6903 7 years ago

No contest. I win, because it's mine and I can play them anytime I want. That being said there are some people who have great spaces which make for great game rooms.

Much with other things, I feel like how rich you are would be a winning factor (and that stinks), but it'd still be cool to see as a spectator.

    Carpet was installed today

Still a ways to go but it's nice enough at the moment to get me excited enough to consider sleeping downstairs tonight lol

That looks great!!!! Is your tile on the floor or on cement board?

    #6910 7 years ago

    What a great large space

    #6911 7 years ago

Downsized from ~1700sq feet to 900. Kept these 5 and bringing in LAH soon. Miss Rollergames, but that's about it. These are the keepers.

We had grey ceramic tile installed @ the bar, bath & walkout @ time of construction years ago. It's directly on the concrete floor of the basement. Hope my shit doesn't crack or settle over those areas lol

Love the skateboards! Its been a long time since I've seem some of those, maybe 25 years. Looks like a Christian Hosoi, Vision Psyco, Hawk and Cabalerro to name a few. Super cool!

Great, lets rank game rooms so other can feel inferior for posting them up. Bad idea. I want to see every game room, from the closet to the Taj Majal. I respect them equally.

Looks sweet, I love the boards.
But uuuummm.... what kind of movies are you watching if you need covers on your chair? Those are not "splash protection" I hope.

Good point. I do like seeing all rooms. Even the smallest. Everyone has great ideas that you can draw off of, and some of the coolest tech ive seen anywhere

While things are under construction, why not add a ramp or some rails to the back of media room? Let your guests test out those boards.

Blacked out ceilings and duct work in my room, 36 gallons of flat black paint total. The ceilings are 9 ft. already, and the blackout gives an appearance of a very spacious and gamey room. Plus, the high top bowlers fit nicely.

Wow some of you guys have really incredible setups! Right now, for me, it's pure function over form!

Yeah you are right there! Thats probably only a 3rd of the basement too, so luckly I have plenty of room for more (I hope), plus as if I wasn't spoiled enough, the basement is exposed and has french doors. Makes bringing new toys in really easy! I do want to finish it sometime in the future though, maybe add a bedroom and bathroom down there as well. For now it works just great and I love it!

Fairly recent pictures. Have added a couple games and shifted some around but you get the idea.... A couple machines fit in niches not seen in the in line rows. Full up and then some.

Absolutely fantastic! Is that a bingo machine I see in the first picture? If so, congrats on getting one, I saw you had posted you were searching for one awhile ago.

Must be fun with a bunch of people over

    #6925 7 years ago

That is a bingo ! Palm Springs is a very fun game to play. Also have one more bingo, Coney Island, that I need to do some work on yet. Have gotten side tracked but I will get back to working on that one of these days.

Ha, that's actually a bean bag from my 2 year olds theater.

I'm so fat & old I'd prolly tear my achillies again if some shit like that was in the basement.

Haven't posted a picture in 5 months...that's green undercab lighting on Metallica only, but it casts over the other two.

Nothing broken yet. Waiting for GB Premium to fill in the last pin spot, and the floor is wearing like concrete. I have had about eight parties in it so far, and planning a local pinhead night. If you're ever up here in the mountains, make it a stop point.

The game room has expanded yet again…… I'm thinking we should have built a bigger house!

New game room wall art. Jersey Jack brought some extra decals to Pintastic today to sign. I hung mine next to my pins. I don't own a Hobbit (I do own a WOZ) but maybe someday.

Sorry for the "play by play" posts but I'm excited & my wife gives no shits about the basement

    Foosball area done!

This weekend I hope to finish the small wet bar area just outside the frame of this photo.

I really don't get what you guys love so much about those stooges guys, but your gameroom is turning out to be absolutely great.

The color scheme you chose is perfect!

I wonder how many times that particular sentiment has been expressed in this thread.

Guess how many arcades I have to my 29 pins? Hint: the pins to arcades ratio is infinite and/or undefined!

No way! A proper "game" room needs a variety of types of games to play. Arcades, pool, darts, slots, card table, football, etc. Otherwise, it's just a Pinball Parlor.

a mame cabinet can play all the games, and only takes up room for one.

    not as pretty, however.

Mame is garbage, same as virtual pinball. Mildly entertaining but missing the joy of playing original hardware.
