Lethal Weapon 3
Data East, 1992I pulled our Lethal Weapon 3 up from the grave, connected everything up, and played a game. For some reason the flippers flip once then retract, whether I'm holding the flipper button or not. It looks like there is no 34v (or 18v?) going to the flipper circuit. Is there a transistor that controls the low power voltage bus on the playfield power board?
Make sure your EOS switch is working properly on the flippers. Did you do a switch test on them? But if both are doing the same thing then it may not be the switches. I believe there are transistors that run the low voltage for the flippers but what are the odds they are both gone? Check the fuses.
All fuses check out. All backbox connections are solid. Can someone explain how Data East handles flipper power?
I had the same issue with one of my flippers on LW3. Check the flipper hold fuses on the flipper pcb board mounted on the lower left side of the cabinet under the playfield. Data East used electronic flipper hold by pulsing voltage instead of an EOS on some games including LW3. Probably have a blown fuse on that board.
