Quoted from Hold_Fast:New guy checking in. I wasn't fortunate enough to live through some of the great times mentioned in this thread, but have some great memories growing up playing in a punk band and going to great shows in the 90's and early 2000's. Now just trying to raise my kids right.
One thing I haven't seen posted in this thread (and maybe slightly off topic), any psychobilly fans in here? Nekromantix, Mad Sin, Koffin Kats, Tiger Army to name a few.

Gutter Demons. Monsters onstage, dont miss em if they play your area.
Some good skatepunk classics I've been listening to lately:
Screeching Weasel - Boogadaboogadaboogada
No Use For A Name - The Daily Grind
Great hillbilly punk:
Joe Buck Yourself - Planet Seethe
Never really got into The Exploited, but love this song:
The Exploited - Beat the Bastards
One of my favorite Ramones songs:
The Ramones - Today your love, Tomorrow the world
Fugazi's so good with MacKaye singing:
Fugazi - KYEO
Wish I could caught that live - insane:
Fugazi - Shut the door
Very mellow but love his band The Evens:
The Evens - Get Evens
Not much will get you hyped up like this song:
Madball - Freight Train
Good stuff too:
Agent Orange - Bloodstains
The Queers - You make me wanna puke
Check out my gym mix:

Quoted from Gryszzz:Man the Exploited were one my 1st punk bands I came to love, love that track too.
Today Your Love...is also my favorite Ramones track.
Nice pics Philthy
Thank you sir. Yeah that Exploited song came up on some Spotify playlist and I thought "Holy shit what is that". Incredibly powerful song. Maybe I ought to dig more into them, I basically know that one and the Ice-T/Slayer cover medley (also another powerhouse of a song).
Will put that on my list.
Quoted from tullster:When Black Flag rolled into town in 1984, it was a defining moment for me. I'd never seen a band and crowd explode like they did when they opened with this song. There was a sense of danger that was entertaining as hell. I saw Black Flag again in '85 & 86, but it didn't match the craziness of that first time.
Wow.
Holy crap you guys have seen some great stuff in its prime. I've seen the Circle Jerks twice - once about 20 years ago at Warped Tour, the other one opening for Pennywise at El Corazon about 12 years back (know that place nwpinball ? ). Another great live band and great straightforward skatepunk band.
I'm seeing them again in March I think (Circle Jerks).
*Edit: or maybe it was opening for Sick of it all? I know I saw those at El Corazon too - awesome awesome live band.
Quoted from nwpinball:Oh yeah I know El Corazon, that venue has been around forever, I started going to it when it was the OffRamp, it's had lot's of name and ownership changes over the years. And currently the punk club Funhouse is also in the same building. I've seen The Dickies, GBH, Fear, the Donnas, L7, the Didjits, Hole, the Mentors, the Business, the New Bomb Turks, Helmet, Neurosis, Sleep, the Pain Teens, the Gits, DOA, Tribe 8, the Hanson Bros, Poison Idea, the Unsane, and about 500 other bands there over the years. I've bled, brawled, puked, partied and hooked up at that place. I even saw the Insane Clown Posse there for a laugh, that shit was nuts.
Cool, I didn't know it was still around... I went to the Funhouse a few times when it was close to the Space Needle, I saw Satan's Pilgrims there. At El Corazon some of the ones I remember are Nashville Pussy, Hank III, Fireball Ministry, Fu Manchu, Soulfly.
Saw Dick Dale at the Tractor, what else... Turbonegro at the Showbox. I caught Hank's white towel he threw when they came out for the encore and used it as my bathroom hand towel for years
Saw Danzig who did a Misfits set with Doyle at the Showbox SoDo.
Isis at ... I forget the name of the place.
Bob Saget (RIP) at the Moore. Henry Rollins spoken word there too.
All over the course of two years... I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch. The music scene is really a good aspect of Seattle.
I keep almost all my e-mail, just found these. Wow that brought back a lot of memories.

Really dig The Exploited sound on Fuck the System and Beat the Bastards - probably not OG favorites but I dig the good production and riffage more than the lo-fi stuff.
If you've never heard this, give it a spin.

Incredible sound.
Capture+_2022-01-27-06-51-38 (resized).pngQuoted from Gryszzz:Last night I was going strictly off of vodka soaked memory. This morning it was bugging me so I finally googled it..
It was the "Attitude" cd; wish I still had it.[quoted image]
Got that PMA
Quoted from Gryszzz:Only waited like, 6 months for this lol
The infamous front porch![quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Another badass local band with a badass gal singing.
Savage Children
Quoted from Gryszzz:That's fucking terrible. ForceFlow throw him the fuck out
Man you guys are all too cool for school.
How about that DK cover by another metal band?
Quoted from Gryszzz:I mean Dave, not you. But you too.
Props to Dave for recording this IMO. Totally clean unpunk sound and a bit of a novelty but I still like it.
Quoted from DodgeThatOne:Bérurier Noir.
France punk. Not sure they would describe themselves as punk. Punk is an ideology not a title!
As an analogy of its politically oriented and anti-fascist message I can think of the Dead Kennedys (but as an analogy only, they are far from being of the same caliber maybe but they have a significant meaning in France and Europe and others French spoking country ). They were active mainly in the late 80's debut of the 90's. The video is from the comeback-farewell show in 2004 on the Plaines d'Abraham in Qc city. And what a show that was, it rains all day, a lot of mud!Cheers,
RIP DH Peligro
Chris
I was at that show! Ruined my shoes and pants!
Quoted from Dee-Bow:Zeke runnning up the mainline.. thu fukkin mainline

Talk'bout that

This was one of the few times I saw them. Another was here in Quebec, I was banging on the stage with others for an encore, the singer walked out, gave me his half empty Molson Ex and started playing.
Quoted from Jackontherocks:Misfits show next Saturday for me
Danzig, Only, Doyle, Lombardo?
Quoted from Gryszzz:OI
Are any of my pals in here gonna be at Expo?
Would love to talk shop and bury you in smoke.
I'll be there!
Quoted from Gryszzz:We gotta hang my dude. I'll pm ya before the show.
Sir, yes sir!
Quoted from Gryszzz:DUDE!
SO FUCKIN AWESOME hanging with ya my man! Please come back next year homie
There's a good chance I will.

Quoted from Gryszzz:For a later album, this one goes HARD
