Was lucky enough to live 25 minutes away from a "venue" called the Jockey Club in Newport, that supported great bands like DK's, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, etc. Oil cans of Fosters, sweaty nights.
Saw them all, lived for that music..
My son's band just opened for Black Flag last month. Really just Greg Ginn and some skateboard dudes, but I was a happy guy.

Must listen if not familiar

Funny I accidentally ran into the fact that Mike Vallely was the lead singer now...whom knew?

Yeah, he does a good Rollins impression, but..
Gawd, they were loud. And Ginn was stoned.
And he didn't use his 110% distortion like he used too. Sux getting old. But I was not going to miss it.. like some people...

My gf asked me which one I liked better,
I hope my answer don't upset her..

Quoted from Gryszzz:

Little homophobia was ok back then. If you like saxophones.

Haha

Repo Man reminds me of Suicidal Tendencies. Before Mike was an ahole
Partied on their bus after a Jockey Club show. That's all I remember, I think

Quoted from Mank:

I used to love the posters/flyers. There was so much stuff jammed on them you couldn't even read the thing, but sometimes something would jump out at you...”Hey, Black Flag is coming.”
Oh, it was slam dancing. The mosh pit phrase came later as I recall.[quoted image]

That flyer was what planned my summers.
Got them at Everybody's Records and Wizard Records. Jockey Club was the place to be
