The first mod will be the JP Jeep instead of that.... awful looking SUV thing they created for the pin. I've never seen that vehicle before, and somehow it's a staple of the pin?

The design is kind of low-tech on the lighting with two ugly external led lights basically spotlighting the handle. Seems like they could have used an induction field with a wireless LED to have it lit from within the amber. The products exist to do this, they wouldn't have to start completely from scratch.

If they have two holes on the housing projecting light from them I think it will look good. What you are describing sounds freaking cool but expensive

Not really that expensive. You can get 10 wireless LEDs at retail for $20. In quantity at wholesale or manufacturing (not sure if this is patented), I have to think you could get it under $1 each. The most expensive part would be the induction coil, but I can't imagine at shooter plate size it would exceed $20.

$20 is a fortune in BOM dollars.

If you're putting it on an LE that's approaching $9000 retail, there better be some $20 BoM showstoppers on it. This isn't an item for the Pro or probably even the Premium.

But $20 doesn't even get you the whole mod, just an induction coil (if I understand you correctly). Then there's an amber mosquito knob, wireless LEDs, wiring, labor. Most LE extras are dirt cheap "perceived value" kinda things. There's a rea$on that knob mod isn't part of the LE package.

I misunderstood and thought the LEs got that shooter knob. The wireless LEDs should be a buck apiece in quantity, and the induction coil field maybe...$20? But you're right, as a standalone item (not an LE "wow" item) there probably wouldn't be a Stern-enough margin in it.

I am tinkering with a topper with Animated T-Rex and Triceratops. Tropical Scene.
Bunch of Raptors, lighting, and a neat Syn Amber Fossil that will tie in with lighting as a centerpiece.

Will I succeed? Who knows, but having Fun, and have ordered a bunch of crap to Try!

Is Stern making the side rails for the LE also?

Given the really poor effort with the super-cheap-looking and constructed official Deadpool and BK:SoR blades that cost a fortune, that's not really a loss.

Once I get some dimensions off the new machine I’m hoping to be able to adapt my DE JP mods to the stern game. I’m especially fond of my gate and T Rex sign stand.

Speaking of the shooter rod being lit..........haven't they had those for like 10 years at this point? Mindorbits lit shooter rods? They stay lit all the time unless they are being pulled back. They use a conduction ring in the inside of the cabinet on the rod to send the power to the light in the shooter knob.

I'm not saying you would want one lighting all kinda flashy colors, but getting the power to a bulb in the knob should be the same no matter what type of bulb it would be I would think.

Wire $2 worth of plug and play leds into the eye sockets, list them for $150 and limited supply then watch the stampede.

No one will own a premium or LE for like a month. What is it with everyone jumping the gun to create these clubs? How about a new rule, first person to take delivery and post a photo of the box can start the thread. You already started this one; how many threads are enough for now?
