Waiting to see if they do some awesome stuff with lighting on the topper…but have to agree…a helmet is a no brainer.

more kid friendly. I like the art. I hope they don’t cave like Oktoberfest backglass. Wish I had that backglass…was so funny. My wife even thought so.

Depicting murder is far beyond being classified as adult in anyone’s book.
Good point, don’t move on. But, why use such energy on this one pin…why not got after others…playboy, Whoa Nellie! Big Juicy Mellons, etc.
I watched an older video on YouTube from the Legends of Valhalla from Riot Pinball. The animations are there. The shots are there. Can’t wait to play it. The build will come from AP…and code will mature through AP and Riot. This one was a no brainer for AP. Love original themes.
The English language is a difficult one. When AP said “limited”, did they limit it because that’s what they thought they could handle, as they are still making other pins? Did AP say “limited” as in “exclusive”…we won’t make anymore, even if there is demand? Spooky “limits” their runs because of resources in a timely fashion. Maybe AP is doing this too…thus limiting the run.
Now, with the last announcement, AP does indicate that it will be 500, even though there is more demand. They didn’t specify this with the 300 announcement. Either way, it’s a limited “small” run of pins and thus will be “rare” in the future.

Hahaha! Top song last year was WAP…a cartoon drawing to theme doesn’t offend me in the least. And I wish I had the original Oktoberfest backglass…and so does my wife. BTW…we get it, you don’t like the art. If I was that offended, I’d not look at it or acknowledge it…why bring attention to that which you think is so horrible.

I suspect, with all the new titles currently in the market and with more being announced by the end or first part of next year. LOV will fall victim as all the other AP machines have to date, with FOMO gone, by ending with dismal sales and not just because of the artwork.
So, you’re confident in this. If it’s the downfall of AP ( the artwork and not your comments) why keep posting? Unless, you really don’t believe that the artwork will be their downfall. If you post again, we have our answer…it’s not the artwork.

And the story is apparently that you are a Viking just returned from your latest voyage, and that you come home to find YOUR home burned down, and YOUR wife murdered. And so you are on the path of vengeance and glory or something. And that your deceased wife becomes the Valkyrie on the backbox art, apparently.
I feel like that backstory should have been put forth from the start, as it casts the art in a completely different light. If that's the actual storyline, then it probably would have helped to not have the Viking covered in blood.
Anyway, listening to Loserkids was the first time I heard this backstory, and so I thought it was worth sharing.
This is a great explanation! Hopefully, this puts this to rest. Interesting how people make backstories or meanings on things in their own minds, but the actual truth is so different.

Is there any part of the gameplay or play field graphics that reinforces the murdered wife theme?
Actually, my wife saw the murdered wife/burned home before it was explained…days ago. And explained the how the husband/warrior looked as avenging her death. I guess, it’s all in the eyes of the beholder.
Got the call! Unfortunately, we are gonna be gone for a couple weeks. Distro said can’t delay shipping and will be second shipping charge. Distro willing to eat second shipping cost. Is AP that hard core that they won’t delay shipping for a couple weeks? Geez, after all, they wouldn’t give an answer when shipping would be at time of order…so were we supposed to just be open for months on when it could be?

Talk with the distributor some more and find out why they would have to ship it twice. I would understand if they had a full load they were shipping to their warehouse and you were disuprting that, but otherwise the games are typically drop shipped from the factory (unless they are picked up in person by local distribtors like ourselves). Something doesn't seem to add up here. Probably just a miscommunications somewhere.
I called when I got the invoice. I said I’d be gone until mid March and asked if it could be held and shipped when I was back. I was told that AP is too busy with making 40-50 games a week and didn’t have the room to warehouse it until I got back…so it’d have to be shipped to the distro and then second ship to me. I was a little taken aback, as I’d never heard of this problem. I’m just putting out there what I was told. As far as I know, I’ll get it mid March…as I’ve now paid in full.
I should specify…I didn’t call AP, I called my distro.
Couple things. The glass is ultra tight…almost can’t get it on and off. Game is perfectly leveled and set to 6.5 pitch. Lockbar fits fine…but afraid I’ll break the glass getting it on and off. Seems to bind around the halfway point.
The other is the topper. They included 3 screws to attach to the head…but no predrilled holes. Nope, not gonna drill or screw into the top of the head…there a speaker making it a blind job and afraid to get into something I shouldn’t. Velcro worked fine. There was no instruction as to where to plug it in. Yes, it seemed obvious where to, and I did, but was still afraid of damaging something if I had hooked it to the wrong power source.

The start button wasn’t working. So I went into the service menu and did a switch test. It responded just fine. If I exit the service menu and close the door before it is truly out of the service menu, it still won’t work. If I leave the door open until it is truly out of the service menu, the button works and the led flashes. All the connections seem fine. Any ideas. It worked for a few games and then stopped again.
Initial opinion…after playing a few games.
Side art is pretty good.
Backglass is really nice.
Display and graphics are awesome.
Sound is next level…you really get rocking and the callouts and main voice are perfect. Musical score will really get you grooving.
Light show is awesome!
Game play…flow is great, shots are unique, rules are easy to follow, but deep and keeps you coming back for more.
Bottom line…GREAT JOB RIOT AND AP!
