Quoted from chuckwurt:

I hope it’s under a stern pro. Someone said a distro told them 7500, but PinballStar told me that classic pricing has not been communicated yet.

I don't believe anybody has yet to undercut the price on a Stern pro, so doing it here would be a first.

A price of $6500 or so would really need to be a must for any of these games to be considered a viable alternative to a Stern pro.

Quoted from PinMonk:

That Odin sculpt could have (and should have) been injection molded or just made a screened plastic, backlit. They could have done the mold for about $6k and that plus actually making them would have been probably $30-ish on a very low run. I think most people would have paid $50 more to have a decent sculpt.

When you make a pinball machine decisions have to be made. Pretty much every part on a game can be $30 better but at some point you just gotta release it and try to make a profit. The smaller companies are no different than Stern in this regard. If someone wants a $50 Odin sculpt I’m sure somebody will step up to the plate for them.

Quoted from swampfire:

Why are you guys rocking the MyPillow guy for your profile pics?

To show how smart they are!

I was gonna do it too but I just can’t figure out how to do it.

Wrongs don’t make a right. You don’t change the terms

Apparently you do. Is it really the end of the world? Let these guys make a few bucks and stay in business.

Quoted from Lhyrgoif:

If a bloody corpse deters you so much I hope you will never play walking dead, halloween or any other horror themed pin. Yikes, overreact much...

You are overreacting to the overreaction.

Anybody who has sold a lot of pinball machines knows the cruel truth: Art matters when families are buying pinball machines. A bloody corpse on the side of the game - regardless of gender - is going to turn a lot of people off. If it were my company, and my $$$/livelyhood was on the line, I certainly would have omitted that particular image. Just doesn't make sense from a sales, marketing standpoint. We've already seen people posting that they have little kids and that cabinet is a no go in their game room.

So you are about to produce and market a pinball machine. As yourself,

1. Will a bloody corpse on the side of a pinball machine help you sell additional units?

2. Will it cost you sales?

Those are really the only relevant questions and I think we know the answers. THey are:

1. zero
2. Probably.

Not good business.

Quoted from flynnibus:

And thank god there is still room for creatives and expression in the industry... or we'd have Gary designed pinball forever.

So how many LOVs are you buying for your route?

And since the "Gary designed" games are a scourge, have you stopped buying them for your route?

#266 2 years ago
Quoted from flynnibus:

Luckily Stern keeps Gary away from the engineering and creative these days.
We'll check out the game at expo.

Gary invented the solid state flipper!! Show some respect!

Quoted from 27dnast:

Huh? They're saying it was never their intent to limit the number of games...
[quoted image]

As the run of games is supposedly sold out, I'm sure they'll be more than happy to refund your spot if you are upset at the change to 500.

Played it a bit tonight. Really
Like the layout, it’s a fun game and easy to play.

Feels solid, doesn’t have that usual “built in the garage” boutique feel to it.

Center ramp is a problem. Those flippers really aren’t up to the task.

Quoted from chuckwurt:

Up the power. I’ll never understand why AP does that with stock power.

The op I talked to said “up the power” doesn’t really work. The coils get hot and weak in short order.
