American Pinball, 2021Got the call! Unfortunately, we are gonna be gone for a couple weeks. Distro said can’t delay shipping and will be second shipping charge. Distro willing to eat second shipping cost. Is AP that hard core that they won’t delay shipping for a couple weeks? Geez, after all, they wouldn’t give an answer when shipping would be at time of order…so were we supposed to just be open for months on when it could be?
All shipping is handled by the distributor. AP notifies distributors when games are ready and they handle all arrangements. Often distributors will arrange shipping for multiple machines at one time and possible that is part of the equation. To my knowledge we have never required a distributor to ship a machine.

Yeah, only time there would be a "required" ship your games would be if they were out of space from all the machines being built... this is not the case right now.
Talk with the distributor some more and find out why they would have to ship it twice. I would understand if they had a full load they were shipping to their warehouse and you were disuprting that, but otherwise the games are typically drop shipped from the factory (unless they are picked up in person by local distribtors like ourselves). Something doesn't seem to add up here. Probably just a miscommunications somewhere.

I called when I got the invoice. I said I’d be gone until mid March and asked if it could be held and shipped when I was back. I was told that AP is too busy with making 40-50 games a week and didn’t have the room to warehouse it until I got back…so it’d have to be shipped to the distro and then second ship to me. I was a little taken aback, as I’d never heard of this problem. I’m just putting out there what I was told. As far as I know, I’ll get it mid March…as I’ve now paid in full.

fair enough. the other option would be to divert your order to a later date. might not be march, but could be april or so (your distro would have to let you know). that way another person could get there game now, and you could (potentially) get one when you are ready.
Great stream again from Daves Arcade... It really is fun to watch how good this game playes. Hopefully the first LOV games getting to germany soon !

The other is the topper. They included 3 screws to attach to the head…but no predrilled holes. Nope, not gonna drill or screw into the top of the head…there a speaker making it a blind job and afraid to get into something I shouldn’t. Velcro worked fine. There was no instruction as to where to plug it in. Yes, it seemed obvious where to, and I did, but was still afraid of damaging something if I had hooked it to the wrong power source.

I just put my palm on the glass to help get it moving. Yes it makes a mess on the glass but just clean it after. The first time I actually used both palms on the glass. Also here is a video on the topper install. Mine did have the predrilled holes fwiw.
One weird issue I’ve run into. The start button wasn’t working. So I went into the service menu and did a switch test. It responded just fine. If I exit the service menu and close the door before it is truly out of the service menu, it still won’t work. If I leave the door open until it is truly out of the service menu, the button works and the led flashes. All the connections seem fine. Any ideas. It worked for a few games and then stopped again.
Increase the pitch to 7. The shipping paper is incorrect. 6.5 is for the other AP games, this one was plays best at that pitch.

When service menu clears you can press the start button. It only takes a few seconds. This is normal.

Got to play a couple games in the middle of the day... used some strats that brenna98 was showing off on stream with the Legend Battles, and stacking War at Sea modes. Got 91M and two tasks away from Valhalla, but could have been a good bit higher. Got the two extra balls, but chocked on my last two balls and totally wasted at least one Thor Hammer and Valkyrie. I am addicted!
Initial opinion…after playing a few games.
Side art is pretty good.
Backglass is really nice.
Display and graphics are awesome.
Sound is next level…you really get rocking and the callouts and main voice are perfect. Musical score will really get you grooving.
Light show is awesome!
Game play…flow is great, shots are unique, rules are easy to follow, but deep and keeps you coming back for more.
Bottom line…GREAT JOB RIOT AND AP!
