So I want to build my own pinball machines (a massive undertaking, I know...) But I'm also interesting on SELLING these machines.

So assume for a moment I'm capable of this. I am currently planning on using replacement parts for other machines, like Williams flippers, or Stern jet bumpers, as components in my tables. Would that create any kind of legal friction with those other companies? Or should I try and find some generic off-brand for everything?

was afraid of that. Well its always worth asking. I'm probably a year away from really getting into it. in that time I plan to prototype a lot of stuff and talk some of the programers and engineers i know to workshop some things with me. Never hurts to ask any of the companies. worse case scenario they say no and I need to come up with my own hardware.
