Hi,
I have a couple of LEDs blown in 2 of my AC/DC lamp boards.
Seem like there was a short in the circuit and 2 boards were dead.(520-5324-04 and 520-5324-02).
I replaced the SMD chips and and they are working again but I have 2 LEDs blown.
Anybody knows the part number of specs of the Cool White LEDs Stern uses on those boards?
I will be ordering from Digikey or Mouser.

Thanks

Nobody?

have you reached out to stern's technical department (patrick powers or chas)?

they may be able to give you the part no. especially considering that your boards would not be covered by warranty any more

No clue but you can replace those boards for about $1.40. Still more than just the LED's themselves but not really expensive either.

I did, but haven't had an answer yet.

This is the board I am talking about. I am not paying 70 bucks + shipping for a board that I fix and only needs a .50 cents LED.

Thanks tho.

$70 bucks?
How many do you need? $70 / $1.39 = You can get 50 for $70. How many do you need to replace?

I need 2 leds, and I forgot to paste the link on my previous post. Lol

That's one of the boards that were blown.
I replaced the led driver chip but 2 leds are bad.

Sorry for the confusion.

Wow, that's silly for a 4 LED board.

Worst case, I wonder if you could buy a single lamp board and transfer over the LED? I've used these in SAM games as well as SPIKE - https://cointaker.com/products/stern-spike-led

Also, may be worthwhile to contact cointaker. They supply most of the LED's for Stern games and I wouldn't be surprised if they don't know the answer to your question or couldn't find it for you.

Oh! Okay, that makes more sense.
If noone here knows, and you don't hear back from Stern, I would measure the size of the LEDs, and then look on Digikey for a matching size (0603, off-hand looks like?) Measuring the forward voltage may be difficult since thir's a controller, but on full, or by using an oscilloscope, you could rough-guesstimate the forward voltage needed.

I just looked on mouser's site and couldn't find anything that matches the exact shape of the single SMD board (first link)
this was the closest ones that I could find:
http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Kingbright/AAAF5051-04/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMsl8UZd3ZuU6RP0mN3FH83BfnaL84cZB7s%3d

I believe the SMDs on the $70 board are also RGB, just a different form factor

I got it fixed.
As 88vett suggested, I got a Coin Taker LED single SMD and pulled the LED.
Its a 3 legs LED, but I just soldered the legs in the middle to the Stern Board.
The pulled LED is way bigger(5mm x 5mm) than the original (3mm x 2mm), so what I did is paint like a frame with a black marker.
Once back in the game, you can't tell the difference.

Total cost for fixing the 2 boards:
2 x ST chips = $3.16
2 x 1 SMD LED = $1.68
Total = $4.84

I'll take a picture of the finished board and post it.
