Quoted from Diamond:

I’ve said many times I would never let my AC/DC luci go or my Metallica. But after playing my zeppelin. I can see things are changing at Stern for the better.

Congrats! Really looking forward to playing a premium/LE version and how owners find the lighting system.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by Stern stepping up? audio/lighting?
Genuinely interested.

Quoted from Jimmyd044:

How does LZ compare to ACDC prem,/le. I have a small collection and I'm interested in LZ but worried it plays too similar

I’m curious as well. FWIW, the LZ pro I put time on wasn’t similar feeling - less greedy outlines w/no target danger near flippers like AC/DC but LZ prem/LE owners may feel different.

#1429 3 years ago

Ok LZLE owners, I know the spinner might need an adjust but how is that third flipper shot to ramp? Smooth as silk?
Please provide more feedback!

Played a nice round on a pro yesterday and the updates and tour modes (spinner especially)- very enjoyable. A few questions for premium/LE owners as I haven’t played one:

-Did Stern fix the timing of the EM mech raising/lowering in code? I like the uninterrupted flow on pro.
-How often do you nail the third flipper ramp shot on premium/le? I hit the ramp once on the pro by pure luck. Not easy.

Thanks for input guys

Congrats as I’m looking for one as well.
Pinside is always right so it’ll go next to Beatles.

Seems like adj EB at 1 good way to go on this one. Friends Prem was handing them out a bit like candy but forgot to confirm his settings.

Guess there’s one less LZ for sale…
Shh. Don’t tell Pinside.
Absolute blast.

Quoted from Jamesays:

you already have your headphones setup too

Enjoy the volume control from outside cab. I’d love to hear anyone’s equalizer/annuitation settings to dial it in the rest of the way. It’s going to be a great weekend.

Blends in really well lit up with playfield.

Quoted from teddyb73:

Not to be pushy but no one is answering the question about the pro. Is it that bad of a pin without the spinner and the return ramp shot of the upper flipper?
Thanks

I personally didnt like the dead end third flipper shot and believe spinner/lock adds a lot to the game.
I do like the pro art package. Others may disagree, but good luck either way you go.

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/stern-node-board-9-video

This pinsider had a different node 9 issue recently that may help troubleshoot.
You seem to be able to play but may be worth a read before dialing up Stern.

#5324 2 years ago

1.04 seems to have eliminated the flashing light eye seizure feature when you rip the EM spinner. Damn. Started to really get used to it!

Quoted from Chisox:

I can’t live without full on seizure mode EM. It’s legit one of my favorite pinball moments ever

Please Stern, bring it back ASAP!!

Quoted from CrazyLevi: next time you have the glass off, check your Icaurus target. The screw fell off last night during a game...turned the game off and reinstalled it now it's fine. It's probably been loose a while. I may try some loctite if it happens again.

Good reminder -normally go around and give all screws etc. a once over before first plunge.
Was too excited with Zep!

Quoted from LOTR_breath:

Looks like we most likely have Steve Ritchie's last design at Stern. You might even say it's his Swan Song.

Played Ramble On in his honor.
Best gig ever making a living doing what you love for so long.
We could all be so lucky!

Don’t know much about Sexton as it relates to games he’s done for Stern. Just curious if he has a good record for completing/polishing code?

Quoted from PismoArcade:

Besides, it seems pretty simple and my grandson may enjoy it more than my Mando pro, which is difficult for him to play.

Funny, sold LZ thinking Mando would please the horde at home. No dice and wish I had one back.
Simple was better for me too.
Hope he enjoys the pin!

#6664 2 years ago

Oh YEAH Stern!! Keeps getting better!!

I don’t understand the IC software but is it possible to temporarily go back to old code so Thanksgiving can be good times vs bad times?

Miss zepp prem- is it true they may be making more this year? Otherwise maybe a HUO local one will pop up under msrp by end of year.
Wishful thinking lol.

I’d like to find a Zep prem/le to have next to my Rush. Lmk if you are in CA and may be willing to sell.

Quoted from BrianJ1337:

I have said it before but from a code/gameplay standpoint easily one of my favorite new Sterns (I also loved the few games of Bond I played and want to dig into that one a bit more). The theme is for me solid but video assets are poorly implemented. I give it a 10 on everything gameplay wise though and that's what matters to me in the end. I was lucky to snag one of the launch builds and have had no issues other than some fiddling with my magic spinner (one of the best modes in pinball btw). For those jumping in you're in for a treat, people slept on this one HARD.

Yeah had an early build very briefly on trade.
Are later builds different in some way?

#9193 5 months ago
Quoted from PoMC:

Yes, my premium I bought last month needed the stern spinner update kit. Pinball also carries them.

So the later ones with IC still need a fix gotcha
