I just took delivery of a new LZ Premium and I'm noticing that the Icarus isn't popping up and dropping down as it should. There seems to be quite a bit of resistance. I've searched a bit on this forum and see where folks have grinded the post of the Icarus down, etc. I'd rather not alter the game to try and fix it, are there any other suggestions (besides lube which is already on it) to make that toy pop up and down as it should? Thanks!

Quoted from Drussksu:

There is a bracket underneath the play field that I adjusted.

It does seem that bracket is what it's rubbing against. Spent about 15 mins trying to adjust it with no luck. Once I re-tighten the nut that holds that bracket it's the same result. The metal Icarus pole already has some kind of grease on it from the factory, but doesn't help. Guess when I get over being annoyed at yet another NIB I have to mess with to get working right I'll take another look. Always amazes me how key pieces of functionality in a game aren't found to be not working prior to shipping... you know... basic QA? In the meantime I've reached out to Stern to see if they have another solution.

Quoted from Jamesays:

have you looked at the guide on top of the playfield ? one screw it may be crooked. And wax

guess that seemed too easy to even consider. i'll take a look at that when i have a moment. thanks

Thanks, this pretty much fixed it. Loosening the screw by his foot, adjusting just a bit, and then tightening has Icarus popping as expected 95% of the time now. Thanks again!!!!!!!!

There seems to be an odd overly loud "knocking sound" when a ball is ejected from the left Tour Multiball scoop. Does anyone else hear anything like that?

Thanks! my search wasn't returning this post, I'll tackle this at some point now that I know it's not something major.

Quoted from gwarrior:

Anyone experiencing--or better yet have a solution for--consistent rejects from the top lock?
Didn't have this problem until about a week ago. Now the top shot rejects about 95% of the solid, deliberate shots into the right orbit. I'm only able to land the top lock on a weak shot up the orbit, or a lucky bounce off the jets.

I'm experiencing this exact thing and can't find where/if it was answered. I can no longer make this shot! Any help would be appreciated.

Quoted from Forehead_Slap:

I had this. Mounted a camera and looked at it in slow motion and it turns out the metal guide that leads into the saucer was just a little bit extended into the playfield. In coordination with Stern, I bent it a little bit back into the upper case so that there was a smooth transition. For me, that did the trick.
PS. Let me know if you need a picture...

Thanks! That makes sense. I'll give it a try when I have a chance.

Pinsiders please help... The Icarus is driving me nuts and close to being thrown out the window to see if he can really fly. No matter what I do... adjust top screw under Icarus foot, loosen bolt under playfield and adjust mech, use carnauba wax on Icarus slider bar... it always ends up shifting and jamming up after a handful of games.

See pic. It's stuck like this until I loosen the top screw under Icarus, shift things a bit, and re-tighten. Then after some games with pinballs slamming into it, it all gets shifted and the Icarus slider gets stuck again.

I've already worked with Stern support and they thought it was a stripped top screw. I replaced that screw... same thing. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. It's really sucking the fun out of this pin.

For some reason when I plunge the ball manually the ball doesn't travel far. It's almost like the shooter rod is slightly hitting the auto-plunge mech. Auto plunge seems to be working fine on its own.

Does anyone know what adjustment should be made? The shooter rod seems fine if take out the play field.
