Quoted from Diamond:This was a first. Doubt I’ll do this again. Went into ball search. Eventually electric magic lowered and balls came back into play.
[quoted image]
Does the electric magic capture a ball and take it under the Playfield or just holds it while up?
Quoted from Psw757:when it does the music muffled a bit like your going backstage.
That’s cool.
Can you hit through it and up the middle ramp? I saw someone mention that, but from all the pics it looks unlikely.
Quoted from Psw757:Well, it’s only been two days since they started showing up in homes and a couple have said it’s possible. I thought it looked off in the photos but depending on the camera angle it might be better in person.
One of the reviews said the shot felt good so I’m taking that as it was done more than once.
Pretty cool if that’s the case, rip the spinner through the mech and up the ramp or hit the icarus jumper.
Would be so satisfying ripping the spinner to ramp.
Quoted from Diamond:The response Steve Richie made to move the brackets to left and right. Definitely worked. Problem now is after a few games of bashing the magic spinner it gets the arms get bent backwards making the spinner finish tilted backwards.
So the spinner must be sitting too low? The ball is partly hitting the spinner arm or at the level of the arm. When the spinner is fully down, would the ball pass clear under the arm or is it hitting the spinner at or above the level of the arm?
Edit: is the ball jumping on the lip between the pf and the baseplate of the magic mech, and therefore hitting the spinner too high? Some slomo footage needed I think. Surely Stern is working on it.
Quoted from Psw757:Try turning spinner around, someone posted a theory it may have been installed backwards. He said he fixed his this way and has worked great but decal is upside down. Can always replace decal if that’s it.
Im not sure that could do anything. If you turn it around its going to be exactly the same. The spinner and wire are symetrical so flipping it wont change anything.
Edit: I’m thinking if your spinner is already bent, flipping it around might fix it until it gets bent again the other way.
Quoted from Psw757:Maybe maybe not.
Again, everything is centered on playing the 10 complete songs to platinum to get there. If you don’t you have another shot to boost sales to platinum in the mini wizard top of charts again focusing on songs you didn’t complete. The other mini wizard is the 10 songs too.
Don’t see how they can add a 4th game within a game that is centric to the 10 songs.
Maybe that’s all it is and Tim was just excited and over hyping the special must be earned super duper cool wizard mode.
If not a new song, maybe a live version of a song(s)?
Quoted from Psw757:Ughhh - can’t deliver my game until Saturday at some point or I can go get tomorrow. 40 minute ride.
Decisions decisions, should I start a poll on what to do? Lol
Go pick it up - no brainer.
Quoted from lapean111:You need to bend those tabs further out. Mine are bent so that the spinner barely stays in them, and it really rips now.
I think his spinner arms are already bent - might just need a new spinner or bend the current one. You can see where the ball has hit the end.
Screenshot 2021-02-05 135326 (resized).jpgQuoted from domrod:The problems it has needs a new thread. It's bumming me out.
What scores are people getting?
As Psw757 said what new code would people like to see?
Pretty sure its already solved - Diamond just needs a new spinner as im assuming his was damaged before the issue was found apparantly. New spinner, re-aligned posts and he "should" be good forever.
Quoted from lapean111:My spinner is perfect. Just took a little while to get it going. I think currently, we are trying to get diamond across the finish line.
Doh, fixed.
Quoted from BallyKISS1978:At this point I am definitely leaning more to getting LZ, but still not leaning towards NIB and not sure if premium is worth the extra cost since I didn’t get to play one and I prefer the artwork on the pro. And will wait and see what stern does for the EM spinner issue.
Surely youd have to go PreLe on this - that spinner mech makes the game IMO (now that it seems to be working).
Quoted from Psw757:Really?
That has to be the least amount of extras ever from Stern.
Nah, it’s a crapshoot with Stern. The original Batman 66 LE’s literally came with nothing. Even at the record high price point (record back then anyway).
Quoted from insight75:Hey guys. Just got an LE home thanks to a really cool Pinside member that answered my wanted ad and sold me his LE. Love it so far. Only thing I saw that looks curious is this clear plastic that sits really close to the side art. In fact I was too afraid to pull up the playfield to have a look at the undercarriage for fear of scratching the side blades. Will likely remove it first. Anyone else have it this close?
[quoted image]
Just loosen the screws push the plastic further in and re- tighten whilst holding.
Btw, you guys should change those ball lock LED’s to frosted - would look so much better.
Quoted from insight75:I have a small chip in the glass. Its not visible as it sits under the moulding in the back. Thoughts? Should I contact Stern? I noticed it the first time I had the glass out and every time I remove it it bothers me more.
Sterns invisglass can be pretty rough around the edges. I’ve had a number of sheets with small chips and very rough edges, but all concealed so hasn’t worried me at all.
Quoted from cantbfrank:Has anyone notice that the lead and right flipper switches are different on the LE. Anyone know why the right flipper has 4 while the left only has 2?
[quoted image][quoted image]
The RHS will have 2 sets of switches - one for the upper and one for the lower flipper. Its’s setup this way to allow you to stage flip (ie trap a ball on the lower flipper while also being able to operate the upper flipper separately).
Quoted from PinMonk:With the mankini the only kind of binding is up the backside.
[quoted image]
Lol. The Mankini could be the best pinball mod of the year.
Quoted from PinMonk:If I had a LZ, it would already be done. No idea what Stern was thinking with that straight-at-the-player sculpt.
The Modesty Mankini (tm)....making the modest even more modest.
Quoted from PinMonk:In WA you can get Starlink internet right now. Do it!
Is that Elon’s new plaything?
Quoted from John_I:Does anyone else think it is odd that Pinstadium is pimping their products for the Premiums and LEs? Why on earth would anyone want to put those things in a game with Expression lighting? Especially when the Pinstadiums will basically block the view of the expression lighting from the players perspective.
Nothing stops Pinstadiums pimping their products. And their fans are so brainwashed, they probably buy them for LZ also.
Quoted from John_I:I suppose another solution is to only raise and lower the spinner while the ball is in one of the two saucers the game has and never while balls are in motion.
This is the only solution Stern would consider now. Just change the coding so that the spinner is more of a “mode” activated by shooting the scoops, and not available once multiball has already started.
Both the instant pop up and the protection options would require a full mech re-design. Not going to happen.
When he ball is locked on the magnet and you need to hit it to release, where is the spinner sitting?
Quoted from Psw757:You see this pin gulp?[quoted image]
The shooter rod is so huge you could just rest your drink on that.
