Quoted from Polypin:Thank you for the idea pinballjah. May I inquire about your glass protectors? Did you make those as well?
I ordered them from Collage.com. They recently closed down, I guess giving away too many glass covers, was not a good business model.
I'm thinking about joining the club, does anyone make a mod to replace the stand up target on pro Into the ramp like on the prem/le?
Quoted from SMP14:I'm thinking about joining the club, does anyone make a mod to replace the stand up target on pro Into the ramp like on the prem/le?
Not that I’ve seen. I know someone said they weee trying to mod theirs at one point don’t know if it ever materialized yet or not.
If you can go premium it adds so much more with the electric magic spinner and expression lights.

I also just saw collage.com closed recently. I'm glad I got my LZ blanket ordered earlier this year while waiting for the pin to be made. My Rush too.
Such a bummer. They really made it easy to get glass covers for pins made.

I have a led zep pro.
Has anyone else had issues with the 2inch rubber behind the drop targets constantly breaking ..
2.5inch seems to big and sloppy
Sorry if has been asked before
Any fix for the ball getting stuck in the gate where the ball comes out of the shooter lane? Mine seems to allow to sway too much back towards the shooter lane and allows a perfect spot for the ball to sit in that gap. Some days it loves to get held up right at this spot.
I am close to 1000 games with the original.
Something is not right in the games that are braking.
What do the drop targets look like on the back? It sometimes is the pointy back chewing up the post.

I slid a piece of automobile vacuum hose over the posts behind Z and P. , Then installed rubber. No more breaking or need to rotate .

you can use a post sleeve and cut it in half, to allow space for the band....
or use a Data East half rubber sleeve post, they had halves in most of their games back in the 90s and this rubber is still being sold today.
Still, I do not have this issue, so something is not set up right in your games.
Putting together an engraved gloss black aluminum Premium edition plate for my LZ Premium. Using the last four digits of the serial number as the Premium Edition number. I figure, why should only LEs have edition number plates. Will post some photos once received and installed. Also doing them for my Metallica and AC/DC Pros. Thanks.

That sounds neat, I look forward to seeing it. When you post, please share how you went about making it.

John, check your shooter gate over carefully. Mine had to be replaced by stern as it came from factory with a poor bend in it and ultimately broke. (Probably from a haphazard install) I was having trouble with the ball getting stuck there too, especially when one half of the gate broke off and hung in the play-field.
However, based on your description, it sounds a little different. I hope you are able to figure it out, its to good of a game to not keep the flow moving.

Mine gets a lot of plays. My second gate is about to fail. First you can take the gate out and carefully bend the guard closest to the flippers so it lies farther out. Or you could get a replacement from stern. Stern sent me three extra.

The manual calls for 1.75" ring. I use a 2" ring. Mine broke twice. I ended up putting two post rings on to try to prevent more breakage. The ball must be slamming into the ring directly on the post.
I watched someone put up 3.5B on an LZ Premium at Expo (on the tournament stream), with a ball3 bonus over 500M. I went to work trying to replicate it but the best I could do today is around 200M, so depressing. I need to spend more time with LZ to get the feel back.

Wow amazing.
I'm in the same boat. I find LZ to be my hardest game, I find my other newer Stern Rush to be significantly easier for me.

My highest is 2B+
I have not played it enough in the last 2 months… need to get at it!

Mine did that for awhile. I made the suggested bend but eventually it started happening again. I’ve played a game in location that just took theirs off and it seems to work fine.
My best game is currently 700 mil. I’ve seen opportunities where I’ve almost turned 500 mil games to 1B but just haven’t been able to get over that hump. Hopefully in the next month or so I’ll get there. Maybe tonight even

"This next game I'll get it..." This captures pinball addiction right here.
Quoted from swampfire:I discovered tonight that I had a sticky Icarus, his shaft was jammed. The fix was easy, just loosen the screw shown below and align the guide with the one under the playfield until the shaft moves freely again.
[quoted image]
you can loctite the screw too, with blue. do not make the assy super tight as it will eventually shift sideways and jam the shaft again. I had a lot of those contraptions in Elvira HOH and tinker for hours with them until I realized they need a little play. Lock tite on the screw keeps it from coming undone.
Joined the club today. My machine is on the ship, meaning it would have been made around month ago. Does anybody know if it will come with a connected Kit?

It should come with the connect kit if made last month. You WILL have to register it on the Stern web site to have it function.

Confirmed. Units coming off line have Stern connect kit already installed.

Caffeinated session last Saturday morning produced a new high score of 6.9 billion. 6.5 of it came on a 186x Icarus multiplier. For all of the MB possibilities, I find my highest scores come from hitting the crossover ramp multiple times and racking up the Icarus multiplier.

What’s really crazy about that Expo score is that the game was set up to disable the Icarus multiplier during Multiball. It was even worse actually, it would take away your current multiplier and award you a 1.0X multiplier. The guy who wrote the code said it was a bug that he’d fix in the next update, but I assume most of us are setting our games to keep Icarus available during MB.

Thanks - i haven’t manipulated it with any bends so I emailed stern so hopefully I’ll have a couple sent my way in the next week or so.
Stern said that this is the first time hearing of a ball getting stuck at the gate. Anyone have a picture of what the gate is supposed to look like? Is there a bend fix? (Did check the topic index) Mine can sway inward enough to get a ball stuck at times.

I haven’t had any stuck ball issues or gate falling off issues.
Quoted from BrianJ1337:[quoted image]

That is what my gate looks like when installed too, however in less than 50 games, my gate has come out of the top hole (bottom of the pic shown) and hung over the playfield once, and completely fallen out of it’s mounting points twice and onto the playfield during a multi-ball.
I haven’t yet remounted the gate the third time yet, it’s pretty easy to do, but wanted to see how the game played without the gate. It’s ok, but the ball does often return to the shooter lane, so I will likely remount the gate. The bend to keep the gate 1-way seems fine.
Am I reading correctly in this thread that folks are bending the other end just slightly once mounted, to help prevent it from easily popping out? Are any Stern replacements different enough to be worth asking for?
The game is awesome, I don’t have my multiplier strategy down yet to pop some of the huge scores I’ve seen, but the PinWoofer upgrade makes the machine ROCK! I like the shaker motor too.
My gate broke about four months after owning. First run build. I took pictures and sent an email in to stern support. I received a new gate and bracket within two weeks. No issues with the new replacement gate
My gate popped out a couple times but hasn't in quite a while - Are the Stern replacement gates and brackets different from what you originally had? what stops it from swaying inward like mine does?
My replacement gate seems to be more reliable then the first run gate. I would definitely let stern know your gate has failed. It’s worth it to have some back ups
Does anyone have a clue of where to purchase a new spinner for the electric magic (new version). It's been in the machine for only about 6 months and recently it started barely spinning (even after a drop of oil) and the bottom is tilted forward quite a bit, so I imagine it's bent. The Part Number for the spinner is 515-2445-00 (new version) that's the info I received from Stern. Does anyone know where to purchase one? I find it hard to believe getting a mere spinner for a year old 12K machine would be so difficult. Specially since the electric magic spinner has had issues from the beginning. You'd think they would have these things stocked ready to go to customers/distributers. My distributer has been asking about these for months now and nothing. Any advice where to purchase or a fix would be appreciated!

Don’t bother calling them. Use the email, include the serial number as stated. I included several pictures as well as a description of what the issue was. My issue was not the spinner, however it seems to be a known issue. Hopefully that will get you some results.
grabbed a premium of this a few weeks ago. Game is way more fun than it gets credit for. I don't love the stock speakers though, has anyone installed a pinwoofer kit? If so, was it a big difference?
I installed Pinwoofer and a powered sub. Big difference. You might try the powered sub first and see how you like it as it's only about $100 and you can hook it up to 3 more games with Pinnovators splitter. I missed the powered sub over Pinwoofer alone so added it back.

Thanks! Any sub recommendation? I haven’t ever hooked one up to a pin.

I think it is great. I am about to pickup a pro in a trade.

I use Klipsch 12" on all my pins (FYI - uses only RCA connection). Blows the POLK 10 out of the water.

If you don't want to solder just get the Pinnovators sub adaptor.
I have 2 Polk PSW10 that are adequate. I have a Yamaha sub I like better. Just be sure to get a powered sub. The Pinnovators output is a mini stereo jack so you might have to get an adaptor for a standard stereo jack...this will depend on what sub you buy.
I just looked and the PSW10 is about $170 now so don't be afraid to buy another brand of 10 to 12 inch powered sub. I bought my PSW,'s from Accessories4less for less than $100 just a few months ago...not in stock now though.
If you get the Pinwoofer and want a sub you will need to solder + and - to the base cabinet leads and attach the sub.
