That's great news! I was worried the newer Stern machines with board-mounted LEDs may not be compatible. I was always under the impression they used their own form of special hardware that the OCD wouldn't be compatible with.

They are not compatible. The ocd board intercepts the lamp matrix. Newer LED sterns don't have a lamp matrix, they use a serial LED protocol.

Edit--my bad on the interpretation there..talking about board mounted leds as in the Pro model that are still driven through a matrix. Ignore me.

I just moved my one and only OCD board (please please please someone get them to Aus!!) across to my ST Pro. OMFG it is incredible. Forget correcting problems with ghosting, flicker, whatever "problems" this board was initially looking to fix..the fade profile is what it's all about. The sweep patterns really sweep now. I'm just speechless at how big an improvement this is over something that wasn't even actually broken.

As an aside..Stern has little boards on the lamp matrix plugs in ST Pro. Without them, the lamps all work but there is some ghosting around the place, with the OCD board in place I have dropped these two daughter boards out and there are no issues.

You do know you can get the Stern ones from Comet Pinball (http://cometpinball.com), right?

Ha, stoopid me. I wasn't sure if that conduit had been 100% set up. Orders going in now then. One for back in the Tron, and one for the new IM, yeah!! 1000 thumbs up for these again. Simply the greatest!

Edit-- In fact, the best thing about the IMVE is it is a new machine that still uses the old lamp protocol so you can put an OCD board in it!

I haven't been following IMVE that closely, so I hadn't seen this info yet. Have a link?

Well...big assumption on my part. I'm assuming they run the same machine with a matrix and sockets, and stick leds in the sockets like they have with the ST Pro. Just running with the idea that a rerun doesn't involve any re-engineering.

i hate to sound like a shill, but this product is fantastic. give it a try on one of your machines. (the only downside is you will then realize you need it for all of them! )

    +1

I just finished setting up a board for my ST Pro. It required different profiles on a bunch of the inserts due to the nature of what they do during the game and how fast their native flashing rates are. All done and the thing looks freaking amazing. CANNOT rate this thing highly enough.

Pumped about getting it into IMVE!!

yes. IMVE is using socketed LEDs, still on a lamp matrix, same as the original IM. So still exactly what the board was designed for..traditional sockets with replacement LEDs.

I am about to buy three more. A great product. The only one I've programmed at all so far is ST. It requires a few sharper response curves on the toplanes and the lock target bank. TSPP is absolutely glorious straight out of the box.
