So far DP makes promises and keeps them...if cocky is what you call it then so be it! No regrets being on the preorder list..can't imagine this gem will ship with incomplete code either.

#16 9 years ago
Quoted from sammiesguys:

I asked this question in another thread and got no responses. Has BOP 2.0 shipped yet? Is it being delivered at expo? From what I read on pinballnews, they were expected to to ship first quarter 2014.

Okay, promises in regards to TBL not BOP 2.0. I would be upset if I was on that preorder too.

Quoted from kvan99:

I mean come on. 9K for a pin that's shoots like FT?

Looks like JP and 4x the trolls, nothing new to see here...move along. Oh and was LOTR not enough? Hobbit... just like I did when watching the movie. Sounds like Scooby Doo, I'll get you, you pesky license holders! As they blame their outcomes on being handcuffed. DP on the other hand is refining 5 potential themes and working on what can and cannot be implemented theme wise per copyright holders on their own time before jumping all in on a project.

Quote I found posted regarding the Pinball News launch party vid:

"Pinball isn't Nam, there are rules! {and the Big Lebowski machine just broke all of them}"

#35 9 years ago
Quoted from zsciaeount:

Just got back from TBL VIP party. They tweaked it a bit to let us see all the features. This is the real deal. TBL is a strong contender for top 10, even in alpha. It's that good to flip.
So glad I've been on board. These guys have struck gold.

Did any TBL Fest attendees flip this game man?

Quoted from Berserk:

Gary is not impressed lol but I don't care!
» YouTube video

I think he was searching for the Wellverine and was disappointed when The Jesus pulled the trigger on Stern till it went click.

Gary's eyeware is more modified than any of his LE models to date.

Quoted from 2RustyBalls:

I really want one, played the game at expo and feel it needs a lot of work! Ball hang ups and raw code. The flippers were weak! Clearly it's a work in progress, letting the public see the game at this point was bad. ........

Bowen says otherwise.

"This isn't the work of carpet pissers.
No....Carpet pissers didn't do this." -Gary Stern

See that large color display Gary. You need to start putting that in your games.

Start with baby steps like no more peg supports.

Quoted from Buffpac5:

Maybe this is the wrong thread, but I felt like the rug "bash toy" was messed up on the one prototype I played at Expo... not sure if it was messed up, or I just didn't hit it enough times...

Go to 26 min mark. Has to be hit 5 or more times to expose the hole.

Another great review from classic video game geeks.

#88 9 years ago
Quoted from RobT:

He says pinball is an old rich man's hobby. Earlier he said pinball was for people in their 40's to 50's. Then he says he finds it interesting that they chose TBL theme because it's not oriented to that demographic.
Huh?
TBL came out 16 years ago. People who are 46 now would have been 30 years old when it was released etc. TBL wasn't marketed at teenagers.

I guess me turning 40 next month means I am a rich old fart for buying a $9K toy according to his calculations...haha.

Quoted from Jnewton:

Don't be too hard on these guys, they mean well and really love pinball, it is just not their main hobby. This is one of my favorite podcasts(Completely Unnecessary Podcast), if you like classic and current video game talk and other Nerdery(comics) it is worth a listen.

I subscribe to their YT channel NES Punk. Ian and Pat always make me laugh.

The first time I watched the vid I did not notice how many F bombs there were, but I did the 2nd go around! I guess I was all hyped up due to being a pre-order person, but the second time while in a more mellow mood I could see why some folks were offended and thought it was unprofessional.

I was listening to a radio interview about what words will be considered off limits in the future and it came down to 3. C word, N word and F word that deals with sexual orientation. They made a point that in the past 30 yrs TV, movies and everyday common language has come to accept all the other faux pas words such as damn, hell, etc. This whole forum post reminds me of an old show that Carl Carlin did called "7 dirty words."

#243 9 years ago
Quoted from Aurich:

Fucking awesome.

Maude Lebowski: Do you like sex, Mr. Lebowski?
The Dude: 'Scuse me?
Maude Lebowski: Sex. The physical act of love. Coitus. Do you like it?
The Dude: I was talking about my rug.
Maude Lebowski: You're not interested in sex?
The Dude: You mean coitus?

#254 9 years ago
Quoted from Superchicken:

Do any Stern games use the word fuck? For that matter are there any other pins that use the F bomb? I don't count home roms. I think MM had a rom version with "I'm Howard Hurtz who the FUCK are you?"

T2 rom is the only other one I am aware of. FU Asshole.
