I’m working on my first Midway motorized score reels. It is a wall game - 1972 Bulls Eye.

Best approach for cleaning these leather washer/clutches? They are pretty gummed up with oil. Naphtha or a degreaser? I plan to add neatsfoot oil to them as that is what the bingo folk seem to do. How much is too much?

Any other tips for these motorized assemblies besides taking lots of photos?

    Thanks.

Great game! I had to do the same on mine--take apart and clean the score reels.

It was a couple of years ago, but if I recall, all I did was use a shop towel to wipe them down good. I didn't spray anything on them, as I didn't know how it would react. Then the rest of the pieces were treated just like any other score reel.

I’m assuming the leather should be as clean and dry as possible, given that the neatsfoot oil is a conditioner/preservative more than a lubricant.

But I’ve never seen a bingo style leather washer...

Also, I think these seemed to be a felt-type material on mine, not leather.

I agree these seem more like felt. The parts catalog lists them as “35-135 WASHER - LEATHER” however.

Everyone seems to like our BullsEye, They always say they've never seen anything like it.

I just wiped mine off to get the crud off and cleaned the rest of the assembly like any other score assembly. Does anybody have working remotes? I have one that works, Im trying to get the other to work but not familiar with the crystal I need. (it's missing). Anyone have a source or info on what is needed?

    thanks
    Steve
