Hey everyone. I made this logo the other night for my local league. Just wondering what y'all thought. Constructive feedback is always welcome. Any other cool logos out there you've seen?

    Oops. Here's the logo.

I like it, but the 'Magic City' text is a bit thin. Might be hard to read on a shirt or decal, especially after a washing or two. The flippers at the bottom could be a bit bigger as well. Overall, I think it's a pretty cool logo!

    #4 9 years ago

I'll second steam's suggestions. You could also use your logo as a pinball and have the flippers sit below the logo ready to flip

    #5 9 years ago

Duely noted, guys! Anybody else want to weigh in? I'll make some changes and post the new neater today.

    #6 9 years ago

And don't use Stern's pinball in your logo!

    Here is ours.

Hey Alex, that is exactly what my wife noticed. It looks awesome, but the "Magic City" should be a larger, easier to read font. Doctor that up and send it to me and I'll see about getting it swapped out on the website. Thanks for doing the logo!

Ok, am I headed in the right direction? I'm about to head out of town for the weekend, but is this better? I'm still not sure it's exactly how I want it. I LOVE the Pittsburgh one.

Change the pinball LOL..rotating it doesn't count!! Apart from that yes you are moving in the right direction

I love the Seattle Logo! It's the inserts as letters that do it for me. I am currently getting a League together for Monterey, CA, and still struggling to pin down a logo. If you haven't already, go to the League page on the IFPA to see a bunch of logos, including the one for Seattle. I also really like the Detroit logo.

    #12 9 years ago

I only rotated it to make it look more like a crescent moon haha. It's not exactly Stern's pinball, although I did trace it and move some things around. I'll change it when I get home from the weekend.

    #13 9 years ago

Alex, it looks perfect. Don't change a thing.

    #14 9 years ago

I'm glad you like it! PM me your email address and I can send you the files directly when I get home on Sunday. It's all vector graphics, so it can be stretched to any size.

    #15 9 years ago

I like ours. VT snuck in just in time to make it.

I really like the drop target idea!

    #17 9 years ago

My only other suggestion was to take out some of the blue 'sky'. Maybe even have the pinball peek out from above that blue sky part. It's a lot of blue sky taking up area. Not bad, just another nitpicky thing. Nice work!

    #18 9 years ago

I'd make the Magic City font bigger and let it overlap the blue. Just my .02c but worth far less.

    #19 9 years ago

You also assume people know where 'Magic City' is... I don't...

    Flashinstinct made this for us.

Feedback we've had on it has been excellent. Combines a pinball, a reflection of our skyline, the dots, plus it shrinks well for a tshirt and we can make an inexpensive b&w version for shirts as well from it.

That's OK. Birmingham is just too damn long for any logo....

    #22 9 years ago

I like the bigger font. Agree with the suggestion to overlap the sky.

    Here's ours:

    London Ontario Pinball League

I like all the logos. However, I would remove the drop shadow from the outside of the magic city logo. They print better on shirts, decals etc without the external drop shadow. You can always add the shadow for a flier, etc, but your official logo probably shouldn't have it.

Just so you guys know, if you need shirts or decals I can work with you and host the design on our site so members can order anytime easily. We do some for the ok pinball enthusiasts, DFW pinball club and maybe a couple more soon. There isn't any additional cost, just the cost of the products ordered and if you want to do it as a fund raiser we can do that too.

I needed to throw something together for our new club's facebook page. I decided to draw my own pinball because I couldn't find a good one to use. Man is that hard! Chrome is a bitch lol.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I tried to overlap the text into the sky with a couple different fonts but it made it more difficult to read. The responses on here have been very helpful, especially considering I'm no graphic artist by any stretch of the imagination. I also thought about putting the text "Birmingham, Alabama" or similar on there. I thought it might fit on the flippers at the bottom, but the logo is already bottom heavy. Maybe it can fit in the 'sky' area without making things overly crowded. Details like that could make it on a t-shirt version, but the whole idea of a logo is to convey who you are simply and quickly.

    #26 9 years ago

Mine's a little different...pretty unpolished overall but what do you expect for the first thing I drew by hand in probably 15 years, then was my first attempt at vectorizing something...I still like it.

Meh. it's just the BOP speaker cut out with words and a state silhouette.

    #30 9 years ago

I know what it is. I just think it is cool looking. Only pinheads will know what it is though. I'd be happy to wear that on a shirt if it were my club.

Mike are you in the OC League?

    #43 9 years ago

Welp, so am I, how do I not know who you are? Damn this enormous league membership!

Yup, I was just at his place last night to check out his newly shopped out Frankenstein. He's maybe half a mile from me, we play at each other's places regularly.

Oh that's funny. I was thinking and messing around last night, figures someone else would've come up with that idea as well. Here's what I tweeted last night under the guise of making pinball seem more like a sport:
