GB was decided a long time ago to be the first LCD, for many of the same reasons JJP chose WOZ. It has many classic, well known scenes that are a perfect fit to use on the LCD. In fact it was specifically picked as a license for this specific LCD introduction. It probably would not have been licensed/done by Stern otherwise.
Ghostbusters will have an LCD. The question is if GB will be next. It was originally supposed to be released at CES. Last summer it was decided that it could not be done in time. Hence they started throwing SMVE together to have it ready for CES. It was always planned to be the first game with an LCD. Production plans are always changed based on the designers needs and input. Last February KISS and GOT were swapped in regards to their release because Ritchie needed more time. GB is now TENTATIVELY scheduled to be released in the Feb/March time frame.
