Mostly musing, as an EM tire-kicker (my basement is full, so all I can do is look). Why so many games featuring prominent Laurel & Hardy graphics:
* Bally Flicker (1975)
* Chicago Coin Cinema (1976)
* Sonic Prospector (1977)
Might be as simple as copying a popular theme, maybe the likenesses were not copyrighted or protected. But other comedians (Bowery Boys, Marx Brothers, Stooges, Chaplin, Lloyd, WC Fields, etc.) are not featured quite so prominently or frequently.
