Hi,
my last action hero is on the blink again,
when i turn the machine on , it boots as normal , then spits a ball out to the shooter lane.
If i start the game , it shoots out another ball into the shooter lane, the shooter does not fire,
the game is then stuck in death save, racking up points showing the death save graphic and constantly playing the death save sound.

I tested all the switched on the play field, and upon diagnostics the only switch that is not registering is the reset bar behind the crane drop targets.
could that be the issue?

any advice gratefully received.

thanks

is there such a switch?

I can find none on the matrix

i think a switch must be stuck but not sure where to find the switch that activates the death save

thanks

i think there must be something making it kick a ball out without pressing the start button
yet all the trough switches register fine

thanks,
as originally stated i tested all the switched and the only fault that the diagnostic comes up with is the reset bar for the target behind the crane targets.
I think I need to determine why the ball is being spit out on boot up.
the ppb has been serviced and replaced with new fuse holders, and transistors.
the power board is a brand new unit and there is no acid damage on the board.
it had been working great for a few month, then one night i power up and it spits a ball out into the shooter lane in boot up.
any ideas greatly appreciated
thanks

ok,
so the principal issues is that when i turn the machine on it boots as normal and then decides to spit out a ball to the shooter lane.
if i try to start a game the shooter coil locks on,
so should i just replace the transistor and is the coil only locking on once i start the game it sending power to the coil?

thanks
for any advice

hi,
thanks for replying,
I ran the diagnostic and it was clear, I did manually test each switch in the trough and they click and register in the switch test.
when I start a game it spits another ball in the shooter lane and when i press the trigger to shoot, the shooter coil locks on.
will test the coil in the coil test tonight

thanks

hi,
i tried the coil test and it fires as normal so perhaps the transistor is ok?

so i need to determine what is causing the 3 big issues
1. game boots as normal then spits a ball out
2. start game and the shooter coil locks on.
3. it goes into a constant loop of death save.

thanks for any advice, i hope some one here has suffered the same problem and has a solution.

ok, after the deluge of suggestions (sarcasm!),
I think since the cpu driver board boots fine the issue must be below the playfield and will start to check everything perhaps some thing in the column of the shooter coil is causing it to lock on.
perhaps something in the trough is causing it to spit a ball out on boot up.
Anyone care to venture if they think I'm in the weeds here with my thinking
thanks

hi, so all the switches register except for the reset bar, so i will replace those 2 switches and report back

thanks
