Here to sing the praises for what I believe to be the most under rated game I have ever found. Picked one up for a third of the price of two it sits in between and cannot stop playing it. This game has everything except a big price tag. I have never seen the movie and don't really care that it lacks a good theme. It has guns, explosions, and sirens, and is just a hell a lot of fun to play. If anyone knows of other hidden gems like this one speak up so I can be on the hunt for it. Who needs expensive games with unfinished codes when there are cheap games like this one! No Data East bashing for me...

Totally agree

LAH has a lot of action and is very challenging.

#4 9 years ago

Great game with a lot of tech. issues .

Try Baywatch. Another hidden gem with a low price tag. Just make sure the DMD is good to go...it is pricey to replace. It can almost be half of what the machine costs.

#6 9 years ago

One of the machine which should of never left

Could not agree more. Was gonna start a thread entitled "Best B pin ever." Was made right after JP and has the same features, plus more! Great bang for the buck. Love the Lt Decker spinner!

Not a fan myself. Hated the scoop locations, among other things. Lots of features, but the gameplay was poor IMHO.

I think the scoop locations border on genius. The mode start (left) scoop is positioned so that a miss to either side can send the ball into the pops and change the mode ready. This adds just the right amount of tension when you have Light Extra Ball ready (or one of the other more lucrative modes) and you are shooting for the mode start. It's gloriously frustrating when you miss and it changes to something else.

The rightmost (Wildcard) scoop where you collect the extra ball (or extend mode timers, etc.) also has the right amount of difficulty (it's hard) and risk for the value (you might drain if you do miss, but it's usually saveable with an appropriate nudge).

The Chicken (middle) scoop is not one I normally shoot for on purpose unless I'm one shot away from the next Chicken award. However, the position is great if you realize it's secondary function is to provide another exit from the pops with a predictable return (via the left scoop).

Best pinball for the money.

"A" list game hiding behind a "B" list theme.

+1 for LAH. Fantastic games from DE 93'

I love LAH, mine will never leave.

Looking for another hidden gem? Maverick. Probably in my top 6-7 machines, no word of a lie. Very hard machine to finish.

#14 9 years ago

Great! I will look for a maverick.

#15 9 years ago

Yeah, the most bang for the buck pin I own. I picked it up cheap and HUO last year.

#16 9 years ago

Glad you found a good pin Steve!
I haven't played much of LAH but I know a few ppl that love it.

#17 9 years ago

did you ever play R&B its fast and fun and its based on the cartoon not the movie. i enjoy it very much and when ball drops in asops hole if you dont want to wait for short vidio hit Boris shoter button and ball pops out of asops hole. has 3d animated back glass and are resonable price.

I picked one up about a month ago. Its a great game, its fairly cheap and I liked so much a spent the bucks for the alternate translate. I have not had any problems with it except a broken E target on the crane drops. The ball flies around and everyone who has played it has said how much fun it is. Its a game that fell into my collection and am damn glad it did.

My only complaint is that MB starts on ball three no matter what. I can see that being a great attract/hook thing back in the arcade days, but I really wish there was an option to make you advance the movie shots to get it only.

I've been pumping this machine for years.

#21 9 years ago

Yeah the 3rd ball multiball was short sighted in an otherwise great table. As far as tech is concerned the crane is a bit of PITA. The cpu has been nothing but trouble for me, but it's not the machines fault the guy who sold it to me was a pinball criminal with the way he neglected, but I'm determined to get it running again soon.

I'm one of the few folks I know that saw the movie in the theater and really liked it from the start. It's not an action movie. It's pure tongue-planted-firmly-in-cheek satire and a send-up of every action movie cliche you've ever seen.

The movie is brilliant, and so is the pin.

Especially when one falls into your lap for $500!

I believe you can turn off the ball 3 gimme mb in the settings.

#25 9 years ago

I never played one and was unaware like most people how good of a game it is. Have it on the main floor and boy does that shaker shake the floor, but I don't want to turn it of as that's the way its meant to play.

#26 9 years ago

I couldn't agree more, just finished restoring the non working one I picked up and I love playing it.So many cool features and the magnets are so awesome! I have a Judge Dredd and cyclone and I enjoy playing LAH way more.

#27 9 years ago

I liked the movie and like the pin. Hate the DE free multiball with the smart missile. Like the alternate translite better than the production.

Paid 750 for mine years ago so no reason to sell

#28 9 years ago

whats the alternate translite look like.

#29 9 years ago

I think it has one of the best shaker motor integration of any machine I've played..Very fun..

#30 9 years ago

You're right it's the bomb ... Run away from it, it's gona explode !!!!!

I bought the alternate translate and am happy with it. It lights up nicely and my original, while I didn't hate it was a little scratched.
