After dithering around for ages, I had Lasik done around 2 months ago.
Firstly - the procedure was pretty terrifying. All the cutting and lasering. Had a mild panic attack half way through lol. After the surgery my eyes felt like someone had stabbed them with a hot soldering iron. I doubled down on the meds they gave me and it was fine in the morning.
Unfortunately I’m one of the few that it didn’t work out for. My close up vision is fine (around 2 feet) but long distance is crap. Driving is a mission, and I’m taking it very easy for now.
They said give it some time and see if it comes right … I thought it had improved a little but the tests they did said it hadn’t.
So I’m back for another blast on the “long eye” in a couple of weeks.
Unfortunately that meant my Brisbane Masters pinball tournaments all went to shit as I couldn’t really see the ball well in low light situations. I’m ok at my place, it’s very well lit. But if the light is low, I suck. Haha.
I hope it works out this time so I can regain my former skills!
