I've recently started with the creation of Tech Charts for Data East games.
Laser War is the first in the list.
It is much like the Williams System 11 games, but names for the various connectors are changed.
Also the transistor designations are different than the Williams System.

Can you guys help me with checking the file for mistakes?
Here is a copy of the file for you to look at.

Strange, it doesn't show the white-red wire in this position in the schematics....
Is there a 24V motor somewhere in this game?

Don't forget to add fuses for the bridge rectifiers on the back plate.
Those are factory NOT fused (old Williams mistake).
You can also add my Bridge Board, www.inkochnito.nl

I have board specific schematics on my wbesite.
Look in the Data East section at the bottom.

Quoted from DumbAss:

Which side (AC or DC) or should both sides of the bridge rectifiers should be fused?

The AC sides are not fused.
If a rectifier goes bad (internal short) it will burn your wires.
Hopefully it will blow the main fuse.......

Such a nice game with bad instruction cards.....
It seems I need to update the cards for this game.
Can you send or post a clear image (without insert) of the right side card please?

Be sure to add fuses before the rectifiers in the backbox.
Or put in one of my Bridge Boards.

Quoted from dri:

Are there any alternative ROMs available for this game, especially competitive settings? The whole random roll which ramp award you get assigned and the non-feature of not being able to turn off extra balls are quite annoying.

In Pinmame there is version 8.1 and 8.3 (and a German version 9.0).
I don't know if version 8.3 has some kind of competive setting.
You can see which version you have when you go into the test menu.
It is on the first screen that pops up.

All I can say: fuse those rectifiers or use an Inkochnito Bridge Board!
They are a fire hazard, especialy with solenoid problems.
