I'm fortunate to work for a large industrial laser company and happen to have a new toy to remove rust.

The lockdown bar is from a 1977 Gottlieb Gridiron. This was the initial test this morning, will clean it and get photo's later today. It is a hell of a lot faster than sanding.

How does this compare to sand/bead blasting?

I'm not stripping expert and have only used a media blaster a couple times over the years.

Media is safer and cheaper. But you can dial the power back for thin and aluminum materials with the laser. Get's in nooks and crannies pretty good too.
