Remove the bulb. Peek in the socket. The metal clips that grab the wires on the base of the bulb. Do they have plenty of tension to grip the base of the bulb ?

The wires into the IDC part of the light socket. Be sure they are pushed in tight.

Replace the bulb and clean out socket first. Then replace socket if that doesn’t do it.

I've replaced the sockets and it's not a lot of fun as the ones under the flipper mech are stapled in and you need a long nose stapler to do it. I'd start with better bulbs from comet. Stern ones don't seem to be able to take the vibrations.

On my Stern SAM machine, I had 2 bayonet bulbs beneath the flipper mechanisms that operated intermittently on both sides. I tried to clean the spring contacts with a wire brush and such, but the problem was persistent. It was a pain because the flipper mechanism had to be removed in order to replace the sockets that were underneath them, but my bulbs all work correctly now. I replaced them while I was doing a flipper rebuild, so it was not as much of a waste of effort. The new sockets that I got from Pinball Life were superior to those that were originally installed by Stern.
