Hi,
I've not heard that one from anyone else yet; I recommend you try a "restore defaults." In the adjust menu. Perhaps something is wonky in your saved ram. Definitely not correct behavior with the mod.

There are a handful of places the game can think it has a ball captured, and that count gets added to the 6 switches in the trough. Two balls can be detected on the ball lockramp (check those switches in diagnostic mode). In the trough, there are 6 switches plus one additional switch. When the lockout coil releases a ball it rolls onto that 7th switch just before it is upkicked into the shooter lane. And of course there is the shooter lane switch. If all of those switches work fine in diagnostic mode, as well as each of the trough switches (check them all individually) I would probably put the original rom back in and see if the problem goes away. If the problem follows the new rom, it might be a bad burn. Keep us posted....
Glad it was an easy fix! Sometimes it just takes another person to suggest something we may have not thought of; I know it's happened to me.
