I had once NVRAM'd a LW3 and it started doing that behaviour. after changing back to a normal 6242 it went away... i am not sure WHY it would do that, but its another plaece to look

One game, middle of the multiball, it just stopped firing and started to stack balls. So I turned it off. So I popped open the back to test the transistors and right off the bat what I found. This may be what’s up with yours just didn’t get all toasty like mine just did.

did you swap out that bad tranny and did it stop doing this behavior at start up?
