If I remember right, there’s a relay on the door that engages (when there are replays available) when the coin slide chute is pushed (there’s also a switch that closes when the coin slide is pressed in so that the relay isn’t always on). The relay enables the coin slide to push in all the way and reset the game without a coin in the slot (I believe the relay moves a small arm on the slide). Otherwise, if there are no replays and no coins, the slide can’t be pressed all of the way in.

Quoted from Flyrod:

You guys rock! Thank you! My door does not have that relay on the door. The quest begins!!

Here are some photos of the back of the door of a 1949 Gottlieb (Three Musketeers) that shows the relay and switch as well as a close up of the arm that moves when the relay is engaged. You should be able to see in the first photo that there’s an arm from the coin slide that closes a switch that completes the circuit to the relay when the slide is pushed.

Given the photo of the plug receptacle on Cinderella and the photo of your plug (four prongs), it seems that 1948 machines have a different setup than Three Musketeers (which only has a two pronged plug/connection). The photo of the Cinderella door shows a relay and switch like on the Three Musketeers and so I’m not sure why they have different numbers of plugs. Perhaps illawarra92 can see where the wires go on his Cinderella as it’s hard to tell from his photo.

I do not know if the mechs were the same on 48 and 49 machines, but the mech on Three Musketeers certainly looks different from what you have. You may need some photos of mechs from 48 machines to figure out exactly what you need, but here are some photos with calipers so you can gauge measurements of the mech on Three Musketeers. The bar that gets pressed in to reset the game is approximately 5-3/4” away from the inside edge of the door. The mech extends about 3-7/8” from the internal edge of the door when at rest; when pushed the mech extends to ~7”.

I also included a photo of the mech info (it’s an ABT mech).
