Ok, so we'll definitely plan a meet up during HAAG. There are a bunch of New Orleans enthusiasts who don't hang out on the messageboards that everybody can meet.
I hear somewhere in New Orleans, there's a Monster Bash out on location. I have to find out where.
I've heard Mick's is actually a place where serious pinball people hang out - some of my friends go there regularly - I'll have to check it out.
In other news, our progress on the building to house the collection is coming along. We finally got electricity hooked up and have contractors buzzing all around getting things going. Things are moving slow, but promising. I expect we'll have at least 60+ games in one location once the dust settles, including some pretty rare games and a "museum" section with displays of games through the ages. There's a group of about 10-15 of us working on this space and on the weekends everybody's been coming out to help. My space won't be nearly as big as PAPA, but it should be just as nice, and we're adding several other things to our project including an internet broadcast stage, and a full-featured workshop. I've got piles of tools and things I've been collecting - just yesterday I picked up a 33 gallon air compressor for $50. Being patient and slowly acquiring things is paying off.
