Quoted from kruzman:Today I am painting rocky and bullwinkel that will be for sale (restored) as well as I am going to try again to paint these fluorescent rings around the inserts in front of the swamp on a TAF ipb repro. The screens didnt line up so there is white slivers in the hot orange/pink key lines. The problem is I cant get it to look stock. I have done it twice allready and both times it draws attention, and I would rather have it stock and slightly off, that draw attention that its been repainted. so we shall see. Often sanding the work off, and starting fresh another day, really works
Pretty sure this one's mine. Sorry for any trouble it's causing you. I didn't even see any of that. Only thing I saw was a red blemish under the side ramp area. Didn't care cause I figured the ramp would cover it up anyway. Goes to show you what the trained eye picks up over the untrained.
There was a CPR repro gold available for less but I was told the IPB was closer to the original as far as coloring went. So I spent more on the IPB...should have grabbed the CPR
Quoted from kruzman:This is a Gnat free, IPB, TAF repro.
Almost every IPB pf is different than the others. Its like sno flakes. no one is alike.
This one had a scrape in the gray on the lower right side, so I painted the whole gray area, about half of the inserts had cracks and many of the triangle and arrow, and lightning inserts needed to be tightened up. IPG screening is pretty sloppy some times. The black screen was clogged up on this one.
I noticed that the pop bumpers wernt drilled, then I noticed the side rails were not either nor the posts that go all the way thru. so it needed 38 holes, not dimples. so keep that in mind when you do a IPB, because, several batches are like this.
I installed the UPC sticker from another TAF pf. I really like this special touch. Personally I would want my game looking stock, and thats the first thing I look for on the pfs.
I have had this pf here for way too long because it was waiting for paint work, and then I got it all done but the fluorescent lines around the round circles by the swamp area. I ordered new paint, and I couldnt get it to look perfect, so I sanded off my work and left it as is. I never got any grief from the owner for it taking too long, and I hope that was because he wasnt in a hurry. Thank you for the patience!
Then the Gnat. stupid bugs.
I am very happy with the results. very happy, this will make for an amazing TAF. BYWI saw one for sale for like 12 grand and it had the original pf, but LED lights.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Looks amazing Ron! I can't wait to get this installed. It'll look better than new
