Ron, do you put a trademark or initials or secret code or anything on your playfields?

Ron, You're a class act! When I read Bulldozer 's post I figured most OPs would just ignore the post and move on. But you didn't. You gave an honest answer. I'll guarantee NO auto-body paint shop will take the time and effort to follow your long and detail oriented process.

Kruzman and HEP threads are the first I look at daily on pinside.

Quoted from Tsskinne:

Ron just finished this beauty for me! Lady Death. Coming to a pinball show near you in the distant future. Tried to take some pics outside so you can see the amazing reflection

Looks like another phenomenal RK PF. Can't wait to see it in the finished pin!

Quoted from RCA1:

You plant the garden.
Deer eat the garden.
You eat the deer.
Problem solved.

Maybe, but you need some veggies to go with all that meat!

I’m into tube audio hi-fi. I really enjoy building my own amps. Some of the best stuff I’ve seen with great bang-for-the buck are the Elekits from Victor Kung in Canada.
I just finished an Elekit TU-8600. https://www.vkmusic.ca/TU-8600.htm It’s a SET amp using Elrog 300B tubes. The Japanese kits have great instructions, impeccable sound and are easy to build.
I’m now investigating SunValley kits. The SunValley industrial look is phenomenal. They’re made by the electronics subdivision of Toyota Industries. Very simple and elegant design; similar to the Dynaco Ron has. Here’s the link to my next project. https://www.audioasylum.com/forums/triode/messages/59.html

Nice looking PM PF! I was looking for one of these about two years ago. I should’ve kept waiting.

#537 1 year ago
Quoted from kruzman:

Patients young grasshopper:
Its nicer than usual because the inserts are more level than usual. 95% of the p.m. pfs I have cleared required paint work around the insert cracks. I got lucky on this one I guess.

Some fortunate PM owner will be lucky to have your PF!

None of those PFs are mine, but tell me about the Marantz receivers!

I don’t see ACNC very often. Somebody should just snap this up.

#704 9 months ago
Quoted from Coyote:

FTR, Spooky has a whole stock of them, if you want a NON-Kruzman one, you can simply call them up and have them ship you one.
Though, keep in mind, like I said, its *NOT* a Kruzman model.

Nice to know. I figured they were hard to get. Why can’t Stern make it as easy to get a spare PF?

Quoted from kruzman:

By the way, a lot of people have pfs sent directly here from cpr or mirco to save on another shipping trip and possible damage. I just ask people to check in with me first, please.
good weekend!

Sorry, I was probably one of those sending PFs to your before asking...

Quoted from Robotworkshop:

Upvoted because of the picture of your furry helper inspecting the playfields.

Quoted from mollyspub:

Hello kitty! What's your cats name?

I’m thinking the same? Cat have a name?

#864 7 months ago
Quoted from lurch:...I'll deferr this one to you.
For now I'm happy to continue to beat the hell out of my existing playfield without remorse. Cause it looks like hell anyways.

lurch , good karma going on there. You’re a standup guy!

Quoted from kruzman:

Finished a cpr gold (if it matters) EATPM for a kind fella over on the west side of the country. I am super happy with it.
I am going to find a michrometer, so I can find out the thickness of my clear. This one feels thinner than a mirco stock pf, which is usually what I tell folks. there is a lot of difference between lots of thin coats that get sanded and a couple slop layers.
One down only 41 more to go!!!!
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Man, that EATPM is Purdy! I wish it was mine!

is my shadow playfield ready yet? hows your cat doing?

Quoted from CashMoney:

lol I'm also waiting for my Shadow playfield.

Perfection takes time.

Quoted from Manny65:

The JP Prem and LE PF are the same. Stern is still making Prems machines and have been just doing the latest batch. I would assume that you'd be able to acquire a new PF from them, since they have spares for warranty issues etc - worth asking at least

Good luck getting a PF from Stern unless you have connections or it’s a warranty issue.

#1059 5 months ago
Quoted from Coyote:

Easily done.
Call an operator distribitor's parts department. Tell them you want a price on a 'game' playfield. They will either be able to tell your te amount right off, or call you back. By 'operator', I mean NOT PInball Life, CPR, CoinTaker, or all these collector/hobbyist outlets, but actually operator (gaming, vending, etc) distributors.
It's how I got my Ghostbusters PF and Deadpool PF.
Note that you'll need to order these while the games are still 'new'. I mean, you can't call now and expect a FG playfield..

Thanks! I haven’t tried that angle.

#1074 5 months ago

Thanks for the updates Ron. It sounds like you’re plugging away at the 30+ PFs stacked around your place.

Quoted from kruzman:

If you click on the pic of the 2 yellow arrow inserts at the top and enlarge, you will see the cracks from the insert edge go in to the crème color, which got painted. Oh and here are the after pics.

Quoted from kruzman:

Sorry guys its just too hot and humid out to work on pfs. I am gonna hold up, in the basement for a while I guess.

Ron, the projects can wait. Take it easy, rest and stay hydrated. My son-in-law has been building a 2500’ pole/barbed wide fence and suffered from heat exhaustion in the Mississippi heat today.

Nice story. I’d love to see some pics of his polebarn gameroom. I aspire to have something like that someday with all my games.

Quoted from kruzman:

My power came on this morning. Its been off since tue at 5.15 pm. The downed line lie across my street tue and all day wed. A little car with the power company logo pulled in to my drive, and I yelled "what did you do?" she didnt get it but I asked where's the line guys and she told me lousiana and NJ making a buttload of money. She said we only have one crew, I think for the county. counties around here are 36 miles by 36 miles usually. so all my food got nasty, and I didnt have water the whole time, and boo hoo. I stayed busy cutting wood in the day time, but soon as it gets dark, with no woman, or even someone to talk to it gets quiet really fast!
I had the trees that were close to the house and barn cut back this spring (when I got the squirrils), and still a big oak snapped in half and would be thru my new roof if it didnt get caught up in a cherry tree. Now there is a widdow maker hanging there stressing me out. The tree guy that was pretty good this spring said he is way booked and call back in a month. Its so funny that the insurance company wont help until it falls on the roof and wrecks the place. Its going to cost me a mint and there will be no shade but I have to cut back all of the trees, all the way to worst case senerio distance. 3 are beautiful walnuts that are about 18 in wide which is too thin for laminate, and is going to be expensive fire wood.
We had 3 storms this summer that ripped up trees and power lines.I realize its way worse to the south and west, but this new climate means we are going to have to make big changes in stuff we take for granted.
On the pf front I have the Jungle lord and one of the stars ready to hand block 2000 and 3000 and then polish. I am thinking I may sand those and polish one of them. There are about 10 pfs with all of their coats, that are ready to sand and polish, so if you have one here watch for it.
From memory the titles that are ready to sand and polish are:
Iron man
charlie and the choclate factory
JJ potc
BSD again
globe trotters
BH main not mini.
so watch for pics of your pf!!

Hoping BK2K and StarGazer are mine!
Hope you get through the storms.

BSD looks fantastic. Very nice job correcting the bubble and saving the PF!

#1454 32 days ago

I don’t know which playfield it is. What I do know is the back of your PFs looks almost as good as the front!
