Paragon was rerun as well - didn't even know they had run them. I was on the pre-order list, but never got contacted. oh well - not buying it right now, I don't even have room to set the game up. I'll wait.

The Rolling Stones one looks good. That's a game I "want" but people ask CRAZY pricing for them, even hammered. Simple gameplay but fun.

If you do decide to do it yourself double check all nail spots - repro PF makers aren't 100% accurate on where the divots are.

Quoted from zombywoof:

I had been on the reserve list for the Paragon run for years, ever since they first announced. I even confirmed with both Kevin and Thomas in early 2020 that I was still interested and wanted a playfield; nevertheless, when they did the run I was never given the option to buy.

Yup, me too. Decided I don't really need it though.

green apple quick step

Quoted from kruzman:

Then there is the people who are displeased by how much I charge to just spray on a couple coats, after they all ready spent 10 grand.

People are cheap in the weirdest ways.

Also, if it was so easy, why aren't they doing it themselves?

Quoted from pinster68:

Close up of clear is just not in the same league…

About thirty percent of the cpr fields seem to do that. Some have acceptable clear but some do that. The ridgy ones all should be recleared.

#1966 1 year ago
Quoted from Flipper_McGavin:

Those ridges really are unnoticeable unless you look at a specific angle under a specific light glare. They don't affect ball travel.

They do when you can feel them.

#1979 1 year ago

It's extreme for sure but some of the ridgy ones you can feel with your finger, (not the nail.... I reserve the nail test for seeing how inserts are sealed in). I don't think it's going to get stuck at all, but the extreme ridged ones have sharp peaks. No doubt it's grain soaking in. Others stay gorgeous, so it's probably related to the wood dryness when cleared/printed.

Quoted from Coyote:

Wait, what is this??

You haven't run into the Bally plastic playfield experiment yet? They look great but the parts all fall off the bottom with use.

#2681 1 year ago
Quoted from kruzman:

I have never owned one of these installed in a game, but I dont know if the statement about parts falling off is true.

Ask BigAl56 how it worked out he probably knows. The issue is that the material crumbles/strips and you can't get the screws to stay tight. They did stay vibrant and stable though, if the other issue had worked out it would have become the PF material of choice.

Quoted from kruzman:

I was a volunteer score keeper at the tourneys at expo for several years. Those guys get PISSED when they loose.

That's one of the reasons I don't play in many tourneys anymore. It's supposed to be fun, not something where the loser throws chairs, hits walls, swears at the top of their lungs, complains about machine setup, calls the ifpa president if a ruling doesn't go their way, etc.

The newer players coming up see much more classy about this when they lose.

Quoted from kruzman:

My friend Tom came up from atlanta in this to get the acdc game. When I saw it, the dread fell over me, thinking "you dumb newbie, we are going to have to take this game all apart to possibly get it in there".
I wish I would have taken pics with it next to my truck, because with out reference, in a pic, it looks like a small mini van. NO, this is smaller than a Prius!

Yep, amazing cargo space just the right fit for a game.

I put a meteor in a Chevy Aveo. Once. Tight fit for sure. Much prefer the larger SUV type vehicles even if only moving one game, just for the ease of putting it in there. Couldn't fit a handtruck in with the Aveo.

Cargo van is best if multiple machines but of course gas guzzler.

Quoted from Williampinball:

I don't know why u would want less power too the flippers lol

Removing windings increases power on coils not reduces it lol

#3992 3 months ago

It usually doesn't work for flipper coils though.... just single winding. The power stroke winding is usually in the center. It would improve the holding performance for sure

Here is the next restoration. This one is going to be tough.

I hope this is an early April Fools if not hats off to you!

Quoted from dmacy:

I find the early solid states worse. Not sure why.

There's just more detail oriented stuff... lamp boards on the later games are so much easier to feel with.
