Quoted from Coyote:

I paid Neo $1000 to touch up and clear a Williams Big Ben (EM, '75?) playfield. The game's worth not more'n $300 normally. No way I'd be able to sell the game and get my money back. But - I don't care. I really enjoy the game, and wanted a nice PF in it!

Never let anyone tell you how you should or shouldn't spend your money.

Quoted from yancy:

Forgive me as I'm a total idiot when it comes to this stuff, and you're the expert. Do you ever try fading it in? Like, masking a larger area than you need to touch up and gradually airbrushing a very close match into the existing color?

Kind of like what a bodyshop does when they repaint a quarter panel or similar. They'll blend the new color of the quarter panel into the old painted areas around it.

It appears those playfields are missing more than just dimples, Ron. Not only were dimples added in house, but so were many post holes and the like. I've never heard why this was done.

If the Addams is like most NOS I've seen in the past, it'll be missing somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 holes. Fifteen of them are for the pop bumper bracket posts alone. There appears to be no holes for the posts around the electric chair either.

Looking at the BSD, that one might be fine.

You might want to double check them all. I'd hate to have you go through the work of clearing them only to find out later, you need to drill some holes.

BTW, amazing buy! If I had had the chance, I would have bought them all too!

Not to hijack Ron's thread, but anyone doing a playfield swap may be interested in this.

Quoted from mmr61184:

Haha, I am sure Dave or Bryan will have something to say about it

I never put the roll pins in. There's honestly no need for them.

Line the flippers up with the inlane plastics so it's a straight line for the ball to roll. Once you have them both lined up, lift them up and make sure they raise the same distance.

Quoted from mmr61184:

Any harm leaving I mostly unpopulated playfield in a rotisserie for a while?
I have my TAF that I didn’t get around to finishing sitting on a rotisserie. It has the side rails screwed in place. It’s one of pin docs rotisseries so it being held in place by the playfield brackets on both ends not trigger clamps. Do I have to worry about warping or anything? [quoted image]

You could always turn it 90 degrees either direction and not worry about a thing.

I've got a Kruzman playfield crate I don't need.

Free to anyone who wants to pay for shipping.

Just thought I'd let people know, I'm working on a TAF NOS playfield swap that Ron dimpled.

There were 7 post holes missing that I'm sure Ron wasn't aware of but damn near every dimple was spot on.

Nicely done, Ron!

Quoted from kruzman:

Very good to know for my template. do you remember where the post holes were missing? was it around the chair hole? I sometimes forget those.
Thank you for the feedback bri, it helps.

Sorry, Ron. I didn't keep track. I should have.

Most of the time when doing swaps, if I run into something like this, I do what I need to and move on.

I thought most of them have a speed adjustment theses days don't they

Mine does and it’s 5 to 10 years old.
