Is this normal on newer Sterns? Almost like there is a factory knocker noise.

Really kind of annoying and makes no sense imo.

are you talking about the pop up post after plunging the ball? disable it in the settings.

    #3 7 years ago

Yup, that noise is the pop up post. I did the exact same thing for the first couple days. I was like, "what the h*** is that?!" A few days later I put two and two together.

I did not turn it off as you can just hold the left flipper button to deactivate it for a plunge if you want to send the ball around the orbit.

I disabled mine ,, Don't need it , and It was annoying !

You can hold down the left flipper button while plunging to stop it popping up.

same here, can't stand it. messes with the flow on tron

    #7 7 years ago

I've always wanted to disable it, I agree really wrecks the flow and causes some BS SDTM. I didn't realize the noise was that post lol. Okay, it's disabled for sure then. Thanks

-The post stops the ball during Bumpers scoring ONLY. No reason to disable it.
If you're full plunging into the Bumpers on Skill shot, you're doing it WRONG.

-Hold the left flipper button during your plunge to bypass the post and go for the ramp shot Skill Shot.

RawleyD, I have always held the left button. It's the knocking sound that irritates me. Not to mention my GF and every friend I have play, unload on that post at full speed. Seems no one listens to me telling them to hold down that left button, lol.

You can disable on ball launch only in the menu.

To disable totally you need to go under the p/f and take a wire off the solenoid.

...or cut it off using a jigsaw blade.

    I disabled mine.

Hmmm. I thought I saw two adjustments. One to turn orbit post off and another for ball plunge. I will have to take a look again.

I stand corrected... was going off what other people said... I actually never tried to disable mine, just used the left flipper... Thanks for clarifying!
