My advice is to ensure the boards are good - first - then working on connectors or other possible issues - you have to start at step 1 which is to determine whether the boards (MPU/Lamp) are performing correctly (these things are nearly 40 years old)....you can either send them in for repair or replace them (Alltek, etc.) either are viable options (luckily I live close to John Wart which makes determining if my boards are good or not, an easy thing), but makes the most sense before replacing connectors (which is still a very needed thing) - you could end up spending a lot of time doing all that and still be at the same place you are now...
