The cord is removable from the rear of the head. Just like a computer power cord.
Whatever the reason is for the change, it IS inconvenient if you have your games lined up side by side. Unless you have freakishly long arms and upper torso LOL. What is for sure a cost saving initiative is the two new bolts that secure the head instead of the trusty old coffin lock. Rationalize that one

I noticed this as well. The coin door is a slightly different design without the embossed area which used to have the decal located.
