Is there much or any difference between Kiss and TWD ?

You guys are all pretty silly.

There are a million great themes for pinball, but I'm not buying a game just because it says Game of Thrones on it.

I'll wait for the game to come out, wait until the code is reasonably complete, and then, IF the game is fun, I'll buy it.

Getting excited about a theme, is like getting excited about a new StarWars movie - you probably will be disappointed.

    Quoted from Minneapolispin:

It's too bad this John Popadiuk KISS pinball never got off the ground.

Zidware just did not have the experience or track record to have received the KISS license.

Stern had been chasing KISS for years but could not get them at the price they could work with. The moment Gary told KISS that AC/DC was the largest selling Stern title ever, KISS suddenly played ball - not to be outdone by Angus and crew.....

As long as I can win a free game, I'm in.

    Quoted from YKpinballer:

Yeah, unless they are planning on multiple GoT pins, it would be awkward having one that ends before the series does.

Maybe the KISS game will even have Gene and Paul replaced when you reach the wizard mode.

KISS is MUCH later in the year.

    Quoted from SadSack:

    Kiss is really cool....
    if you are over 50.

Most NIB pin buyers are over 50.

    Quoted from InfiniteLives:

Or how about a new ip for the theme rather than something licensed, will that ever happen again?

    You got it

    Quoted from o-din:

I like pinball machines that represent a time and place. In twenty years will we want to look back and say "Oh yeah, 2015 was the year of Kiss" ? It works for GnR because twenty years ago they were happening. When I first saw a GnR machine, I thought how cool is that? Not getting that same feeling with the last several band pins.

AC/DCs 2010 Black Ice tour was the 3rd largest grossing tour of all time, so they are still well loved/semi-relevant.

"Today's" top artists are not exactly what 50 year old pin buyers are likely to be interested in:

    Ariana Grande
    One Direction
    Rihanna
    Taylor Swift
    Katy Perry
    Pharrell Williams
    Justin Bieber
    Bruno Mars
    Jay Z
    Lady Gaga
    Chris Brown
    Beyonce
    Michael Buble
    Drake
    Nicki Minaj

    Quoted from jazzmaster:

Maybe JPOP could hook up with Chris Brown and re-theme RAZA to Chris Brown's Domestic Violence Wonderland. Chris probably has the cash infusion that John has been looking for.

Maybe Dennis Nordman would be willing to make a Blackeye 100?

    #299 9 years ago
    Quoted from o-din:

Those aren't necessarily what I was referring to. It seems to me pinballers have not always been about being "mainstream". Or maybe that's just me...

    Nugent
    Dolly Parton
    Brooks & Dunn
    Kiss
    Rolling Stones
    AC/DC
    GNR
    Elvis
    Roy Clark
    The Who

About the most boring and mainstream pile you could ever have....

    #304 9 years ago
    Quoted from o-din:

I guess I'll just keep on playing my old machines and listening to my modern music

Kiss got their pin when they were 5 years old.

Nugent got his pin 3 years into his solo career.

Zombie, White Stripes and Eminem are all going on 20 years old; give us a "new" band that would sell some pins today.......

    Quoted from The_Dude_Abides:

Most looking to buy new pins want a modern layout not an EM type game. I'm assuming Stern will see the truth in this when the analyze the sales for the Melons. Most clamoring for an original theme are talking about a modern style pin with original theme.

Like Gary always says, everybody asks for for an original theme, but the European distributors only order a few of them and that's it.

    Licensed themes sell container loads.

With 1/2 of Stern's sales going overseas, they are only going to build what the market will buy.

    #310 9 years ago
    Quoted from The_Dude_Abides:

Gary has been wrong plenty of times before.

Of course he has, who hasn't been?

    Quoted from The_Dude_Abides:

They only build what they 'think' the market will buy.

    Of course they do.

It would not make sense to build what they "think" would not sell.

    Quoted from jawjaw:

I don't see Stern making any original theme pins.
