I can't wait to put a KISS LE next to my original 1979 version. I'll happily let everyone make fun of me for being a KISStard.

Can I be the first?

Me too, I'm one.

Isn't Stern just building Whoa Nellie like MMr? There is Whizbang Pinball stamped on the machine, not Stern.

Stern is stamped on it too.
It is a joint venture. With MMr, they are just assembling.
Kiss is confirmed: http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/05/05/stern-announces-kiss-pinball-machine
I LOVE the moving wall magnet. Genius. And I especially love the classic 70s bumper caps. Great way to dovetail classic and modern pinball elements.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Quoted from cantbfrank:Good points and love the quote. But Stern needs to be careful. They could spend a lot of money on a LOTRve and not have it sell because the market is already saturated with LoTRs. I think the ve concept is real interesting, but there are only a handful of pins where this will work.
Quoted from blue95:Two of those used machines are above retail price of a new Stern and the other two not much below, that would make it a pretty good prospect of becoming a future VE
What makes you think a TSPP or LOTR VE would be sold at pro pricing? If either of those were made today by Stern they would be premium pins for sure. If MMr is any indication, just because it's a remake doesn't ensure it's cheaper the second (third?) time around.
While I'm not running to get KISS nor GOT... so far KISS looks really sweet.. and the original OP certainly has some type of connection to someone at Stern (or so it seems)... I'll likely skip both but please let me know if JAWS is on the horizon.

Premium?! Why? Ironman wasn't a premium.... Tron reruns were all pros. Pros sell and are good value.
Quoted from TKDalumni:GOT sounds interesting...
If they do as many creative things with kiss as got....I'd be in that!
Quoted from luvthatapex2:I think you are all wrong. The next game is not kiss
Quoted from zucot:Borg is up next. I personally highly doubt that he'd be attached to Kiss.
Quoted from Minneapolispin:I’m sure if this were in a court room, it would get dismissed as hearsay... but what if I were to tell you that a person with close personal ties to a certain place in Chicago wrote this: “KISS is the next pin that will be announced later this Spring (designed by Borg). Then Game of Thrones from Steve will follow late in the year. Take that to the bank”.
Hmmmmm.... I better start saving money now just in case.
Congratz on your inside information, part 1, coming true.
Now we wait for part 2...
For the record I was wrong, and admit it. I'll be less gullible next time
Oh well, glad Borg is the designer as his games rock, so this one will too.
Quoted from luvthatapex2:For the record I was wrong, and admit it.
If only I could get that quote out of my ex-wife! ha ha
Quoted from northvibe:Premium?! Why? Ironman wasn't a premium.... Tron reruns were all pros. Pros sell and are good value.
due to what has to be a higher BOM on those games, as compared to IM or Tron, IMO.
How would remaking an old title cause the BOM to be more than making a new pro? The tooling for toys etc is done, they just have to acquire the material to make it, the programming is done, time is just manufacturing, not having designers, dots and programmers. Now that stern has 4+ lines to work on, I bet we shall hear about more VE's being made alongside current new sterns and pps's remakes etc.
MMR is not a good indicator. That is going for a premium price as the market allowed it. The stern VE price was at the current pro led price. Just wait and see, PPS will not be able to sell remakes of all williams games at $8...the market will not purchase them.

I agree. PPS has 2-3 titles that can be sold at $8k. CC, Big Bang Bar and King Pin. I think MB and AFM may sell at $7-$7500.00

That guy knows his stuff.
I have a strong feeling a Game of Thrones pin will be one of the greatest pinball machines of all time, or at least have the potential to be just that. However, I believe it's a year or two away yet.
Why? The story is... SOO far from being done. How do you "end" a pinball game based on a show that's seemingly only half done. Dragons are a massive part of the theme and they're not even close to reaching the mainland on the show. Can't wait for this pin to come out. Unfortunately, I think we have to.

Hopefully they get permission to use the actors voices unlike TWD
If GoT is a Ritchie... It's a buy for me. Hate to do it again, but I have held back since TWD .
Let me ask this - since GoT is also a really popular book series, could it have more staying power, based on theme, than some of the other TV show based pins? I'm thinking 24 , CSI , Vs GoT , just the theme. If it sucks it sucks, but purely based on theme those others don't seem to remain relevant. Or do you think the GoT books appeal to too narrow an audience?
Quoted from rommy:Or do you think the GoT books appeal to too narrow an audience?
Possibly wider than TWD ?
All I can say is that most of my son's friends (aged around 18) watch it...
(latest episodes were really good by the way - only 2 more to go to finish season 5!)
Instead of Jaws, they should do Jurassic World.
Different parts of park, different dinosaurs - makes much more sense for a pinball.
New tease on the Stern Facebook page shows snippits of code, which includes code for a mode select in which selecting a mode is referred to as choosing your battle. Makes me think Game of Thrones, but who knows.

I LOVE JP, but the JP game really didn't do much for me. I like the LWJP game, but it can't hold up much to games with nice stacking, modes, etc. I'd be down for a new JP game Especially with toys they can do today.

The software will be done when the series is. The machine can come out now though. 2 years sounds about right.
Two seasons left on GoT. They already did something in the last episode that won't appear in the books until Book 6. Not to mention the fact that almost everything is different on the show than in the books at this point. So who cares when the machine comes out?
George RR Martin will likely have a heart attack before finishing Book 7 and it'll have to be completed by Danielle Steel.
I'd like to thank those that sent me flowers and apology cards for trashing me when I told you about KISS 4 months ago! I better get some chocolates when GOT is announce this Fall!
