Agree with the OP, ridiculous choice for any pinball company. These guys have nothing, just be honest and do a Gene Simmons pinball...that's actually LESS ridiculous.

    Quoted from Khabbi:

Funny, a lot of people I talk to also think pinball hasn't been relevant in 30 years? I wonder why people always go back to the past? hmmm.
    Just a ridiculous post.

Well, you don't do a double whammy on them. Using your logic this will be the most epic failure of all time, irrelevant band for an irrelevant hobby.

    Quoted from jarjarisgod:

Garbage band doesn't necessarily equal a garbage pin. ACDC is a prime example of this.

This is true, acdc is all game.

    Quoted from dt3:

... Superstar rock bands dont need to add Def Leppard as a co headliner to not sell out such pretigious venues as the San Manuel Indian Bingo Casino.

Come on, that right there is funny!

    Quoted from Blairally:

Hey stern!!! Toby Keith needs a pinball! So does nickel back! And while you're at it make one for souljah boy and Nikki minaj

Soulja boy / Rick Stetta combo machine

    Quoted from krupa:

Relevant to what? We're talking about this because Stern is supposedly going to make a Kiss pin. I'd imagine it's relevant to Stern that they're making money. Relevant to modern music? Outside of their impact on merchandising and stage shows probably not so much. But they were on American Idol last month performing with the guy who won. I'm sure that's relevant to somebody...
And just to be clear I'm not arguing Kiss' musical legacy here. I just think they're a good choice for a pinball machine.

And I argue that trying to draw in a younger crowd by putting out a Kiss pin is the nail the the coffin.

    Quoted from krupa:

If Avengers and X-Men didn't pull in the younger crowd 4 old dudes in makeup sure as hell won't. I don't think that's the audience they're targeting here.

    Exactly my point.

    Quoted from Rarehero:

Remember Stern makes multiple titles. Not every title has to "draw in a younger crowd". There are already plenty of younger crowd Stern machines available new and used. Avengers, X-Men, Transformers, Shrek, Spider-Man, etc. If/when Kiss goes into production, there will probably also be a "family" title on the line as well. If they do make a Kiss machine, it's to sell it to Kiss fans....just like Metallica sold to Metallica fans. If the game is good, it'll sell to non-fans on its own merits....and, as AC/DC and Metallica have proven - "music experts and snobs" have no bearing on whether these games appeal to people or not. No one cared that Bon Scott wasn't featured on AC/DC. No one cared that Cliff wasn't featured on Met. No one will care which version of Kiss is featured in Kiss. Kiss fans will be interested & buy it. Plenty of people actually like Kiss' music.
The best "younger crowd" theme would be Adventure Time ...iron is still hot & teens/adults love it too! Big animated movies that appeal to kids/adults would be good, too - Despicable Me, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, something by Pixar (Toy Story, Incredibles, etc)

Kiss and Metallica are 20 years apart, and one is actually selling out stadiums to this day. I predict it will be a failed machine, and they'll cancel after a limited run, and then in the future, people will say they have an awesome rare game, that actually just is rare because it sucks.

    Quoted from kid_ego:

I doubt I'll get a KISS pin, but not because of theme.
Well, actually, that's not completely true. I have a small lineup, and I don't want all my pins to be "band" or "music" pins. If they knocked it out of the park from a play perspective, I'd consider it.
Don't understand the negativity of some, though. If it's not a theme you like, pass on it, ignore the threads discussing it, and wait for something more your taste.
No need to piss in everyone's Cheerios.

    It's a discussion forum, I don't like cheerios either.

    Quoted from kid_ego:

Even after dumping 2-3 teaspoons of sugar on them?!?
I get that one should expect to have...umm...discussions on a discussion forum.
But more might participate in said discussion if they didn't feel there were always people who spoke in such absolutes waiting to ambush them.
Even if I thought KISS was the worst band in the world, I wouldn't go out of my way to throw it in the face of their devotees in a forum or make guarantees that a yet-to-even-be-designed pin will automatically suck and not sell.
    But that's just me.

Please don't start a forum, it would be the singular most boring place on earth. No one could post opinions on anything.

Wow! That hurts coming from someone who lives in Minnesota. I thought my forum would be the 2nd most boring place on Earth, right after your house.

I'm sure Harvard, IL is a meca for...well...everything at a whopping under 10k population. And when you make to the big city you have to pray not to get shot walking down the street. Sounds like a ton of fun.

Only 9 million? That's kind of a lot...

Kind of a lot for a talentless band for sure.

Aerosmith and Kiss pins? I can't think of two bands I'd rather not listen to, let alone play a game to their music. But, they do have fans, for some reason.

    #248 9 years ago

Why the heck would you want to be buries in a kiss casket, that just stupid

    #252 9 years ago

Yeah, cremation for me, burial is ridiculous.

    Quoted from Rarehero:

Closet Juggalo lol ...I'm not painting my face or throwing Faygo at people - but I do think ICP are very funny & I like their music. It's like an audio version of a horror comic book. Like many controversial things, they're misunderstood & maligned by people who've never really taken the time to listen or get to know them. At the end of the day...guilty pleasure, what can I say.

Controversial? Icp is controversial? No, it's just dumb

    #262 9 years ago

Here ya go what? Bunch of brain dead idiots chanting a crappy song?
