I have a question for you guys, i noticed i had 2 lights out on the playfield that would not come on even after replacing the bulbs. So since I knew the connection going to the board is touchy i thought i would see if thats my issue over a bad bulb socket. When i removed the glass i noticed not all the lights were lighting in the Kiss letters.
But they would all light in attract mode. What should I be checking on here

I think if you remove the batteries it will reset high score, and it only shows 1 high score. Im not sure you can set all those other score settings like on the new Kiss. It will give you replay if you beat the high score, or hit the specials in game.

Quoted from Joey_N:

That era of Bally MPU (the square board in the back box) had a battery on it. Typically they leaked corrosive junk and rotted the PCB.

Yes they did, you should find them and replace them anyway

What connection should I check for the GI in the back box?

#65 5 years ago

None work except kiss letters and one around the edge.

How come no one has posted pics? I want to see!

I thought I have seen some drop targets with either solo pics or Kiss letters on them. Does anyone have these? I wanted to see what they look like.

You dont have much room to put the pinstadium lights in, so I would like to see that.

I would guess mine is closer to 5.5 then 6.5.
I think 6.5 is better for modern pins.

Quoted from RobbyIRL5:

I’ve got a fairly weathered play field. I ran across this on eBay, has anybody tried something like this? Looks to be stickers that I assume would go on the playfield.

I just used some insert decals on another pin, and they worked very well.
I dont know if I would trust myself doing that much of the center of the playfield though.

Quoted from IrishMatt:

Need,a little help from all the geniuses. I have no lights on the back glass except game play ones even in test mode. During restoration I took pictures and they were lit now nothing. I have all tech boards and everything else is working flawlessly.
Any ideas on where to start?

I had the same issue, once I repinned the connections at the rectifier board they worked.

And since your very close, I would be glad to help.

Very cool!! Looks like you may be a drummer also

Quoted from Bally-High1966:

Yes, i am! Good eye! I'm 54 (be 55 next month), love old school classic rock (VH, KISS, Led Zeppelin, etc). Been playing drums since about age 11. Happy to still be able to do it, even though get a little sore sometimes!

Awesome! I've been playing since I was 14, will be 46 next month.
My 14 year old son has been playing guitar (because of the Metallica pin) and has been writing his own music lately, so I have been able to play again with him. He's into 80's thrash so needing to build my speed back up.

Quoted from Bally-High1966:

Thanks, Pinkid! Appreciate the kind words! When's your birthday? Mine's next month, Feb 10th! Where the hell did the years go??? Lol.

Mine is the 10th also. Another small coincidence is my parents are from Louisiana, near Lafayette. Only place I went on vacations growing up.

#115 3 years ago
Quoted from Bally-High1966:

Wow! Now that's just crazy! Where are your parents from? I'm originally from the New Orleans area, but I've been living in Opelousas, LA for over 15 years now.

They are from Abbeville, you know, where they filmed The Blob!
We didnt go to New Orleans much back then, but I do remember going the the Worlds Fair back in 84.

Quoted from djblouw:

I was asked to make the light board for this game, so I did some test cutting, and am really happy with how the baffle turned out. I added some thickenss to the left side of K, as there was a little light bleed on my original.
Now to get the rest of them cut, and cut a new main board.
I may even end up replacing my original light board, since these are going to turn out so nice.

Mine is pretty beat up, will you be selling these?

Quoted from northvibe:

My friend just picked one up. pf has black marker over the wear in the middle but back glass looks pretty darn good. I'll be repinning all the connectors and trying to do rebuild kits on the stock boards, but that mpu board has some battery damage :/ however the game turns on and I was able to shoot the ball.
Has anyone used super bands on an older game like this (pf rubber not just flippers)? Since it will be at a friends house, I'd rather put those on and not have to worry about it long term, but I do worry they are too tight for the older posts... Thoughts?

I'm using clear silicone rings from Pinball life on mine. I love it.

What color are the legs that originally came on Kiss? Black, Bally Grey, or chrome?

#139 2 years ago

I kind of thought that might be what was correct. Do they look black from far away?

#141 2 years ago
Quoted from northvibe:

no, just dark dark gray. Looking at my stern wrinkle black then kiss...it does not look black.

Thanks for the info.
