In support of Vids recommendation of rubber changing, If you take a good rubber cleaner, PBL as an example, to a NIB Stern, like Kiss, I have found it pulled nothing but Black Off, and lots of it.

Perhaps Gene Needs his Rubber Cleaned well before Play?
......along with everything else in Black rubber.

Maybe it will help until replacement rubber, and or disc rubber get made.
