First post, but I thought I would bump this question back up. I just picked up a Kiss Premium. Looks new, code updated, plays awesome.

Like this original post I too am seeing this behavior, backstage is lit plus any other lights, new track, extra ball, etc.. when I hit the shot...30-50% of the time it just pops back out, without awarding the Backstage Pass or anything else lit up.

I had a cliffy, removed it(which makes the shot easier but the behavior is the same, with or w/o the cliffy.

Any insights?

I hesitate to say it isn’t perfect, because it’s a wiki... but it is a good guide even if you don’t know the Transformers pin it references.

This is a pretty slick fix....Pretty sure Stern has these in stock if you reach out to them. I replaced mine last year before the lock down... they did NOT have white Tron pads in stock...

I had to order through a distributor, but JJ and GameEx ordered it right up... hilariously the Stern guy:
- commented how many they had on the shelf (he counted 10)
- commented that no one EVER ordered these things
- and acted like the fact that the black pads goobered up the balls and playfield was ‘brand new information’
- offered no help or suggestions for said goobering....

The new pad seemed as bad as the original, so I have since followed CapGunTrooper’s suggestion about a polyvinyl sticker, that and replacing the rings with Red Titan rings has cleared up much of the messiness I was seeing.

So sorry to hear that and stories like it here. My Stern experience has always been good. Pablo in support has been responsive for any question I’ve had on Beatles, AIQ, and SW, sending replacement parts as needed. I was also fortunate enough to speak to someone live in parts about the disc for KISS.

Regardless, your fix looks great, and I hope you report back about longevity and if made a difference on keeping the playfield, etc.. cleaner.

On a positive note and disc issues aside, this is a super fun game to play and I finally cracked a billion on my machine this weekend!

That is a detailed observation! And appreciated! I remember only thinking about making sure the Star was upper left.

I will put it on my list for the next maintenance day...

Finally got to Kiss Army with a 5x playfield multiplier… Hit some ridiculous 750M point super jackpot. Gave me a Kiss Army score of 900M+. I did get three extra balls I think, two for sure for cities and instruments. Not sure I will ever get to Rock City, seems so hard to complete Gene and Paul.

I really love the flowy city combos, very satisfying. They should do an “End Of The Road” code update with another bunch of city combos.

Probably $2-3,000 USD, and that’s a guess, others may have better actual buying experience. I remember a few for sale when I started hanging out on Pinside 3-4 years ago. I was immediately priced out when I looked for my Kiss Premium 3 years ago, but I don’t think I’ve seen a separate topper come up in a while. It’s apparently THE best add-on to a pin, until Lior arrived with his art.

I too ordered the mirrored backglass, it arrived quickly and safely. I echo all to comments to date. It is spectacular IRL, and I can’t wait to install it this week!

My wife and I leave tomorrow from CO for the Friday show. I will post a couple show pics and anything that looks cool around the city too.
