Well, that was weird. Just had a game where Lick It Up suddenly became I Love It Loud.
That is, it continued with the Lick mode but sound was now playing ILIL
Never had that before - is it a known bug?
Quoted from cscmtp:so I have a chance to buy a Kiss LE at a very good price, any reason NOT to do this Kiss owners? I like the band's music (although I know I'll change songs with pinball browser) but curious if anyone would try and talk me out of it?
#576 reporting in. Do it! It's beautiful, fun, fast and - a year and a half on for me - still challenging!
Quoted from jefryan:Attention Kiss Pinball Army!!! I just wanted to share with you the awesome job that Kim Keist of Kimball's Pinball's did for my Pro. He customized my backbox LED kit as I already had the Stern topper. I didn't want the KISS lettering on the translite to be interactive like the topper as I thought that might be sensory-overload on the eyes. Anyways, see for your self how great it turned out. If you need a backbox lighting mod, look no further for the value and quality of the best product out there.

Damn, there goes more money!
Just put the new Cliffy on mine and, yeah, there’s no doubt the ball’s still bouncing out a lot more than it does without it.
Same as it did with the old one, pretty much.
In fact, it becomes easier to hit it with the right flipper!
I don’t know - don’t want excessive wear but what’s the point if that shot stops the fun?
Can any non-Cliffy users reassure us about that hole?
Quoted from PinMonk:Give it 20 or 30 plays to calm down. It does settle in over time, and given the brittleness of the clear, you definitely want it protected.
Will do - just waxed pf too so need to give it a chance, it’s a tad speedy atm!
I seem to have a new problem with the Demon Lock on my LE.
Generally the first two balls get up from the VUK fine, but the third just won’t, come the start of multiball.
Anyone else had this? Possible causes?
*pins hopes on vireland once more*
Quoted from Guinnesstime:Or the machine physically tries to lock it up, but the ball falls back down each time?
This, but 95% of the time it’s just the third ball falling back down.
Thanks both, have already tried most of those suggestions but will persist on my next day off. Seems an odd one to develop all of a sudden.
Just to update: Reducing Demon Eject (#8 on adjustments) from 32 to 28 seems to have done the trick. Thanks!
Weird for it to spontaneously become overpowered but there you are.
Funnily enough, during the same game that finally proved all was ok with the Demon, my left flipper decided to have a problem of its own. Went weak all of a sudden but it seems to be intermittent.
Pinball eh? Seems a bit early for a rebuild.
After a largely flawless couple of years, I think it’s determined to give me a couple off Kissues to sort before the final code arrives.
Still, Capgun Trooper’s Starchild protector arrived in post today, so it’s not all bad!
Quoted from capguntrooper:Get that protector installed before that plastic cracks! If you have any questions about installation feel free to contact me anytime!
On it! Thanks Cap - and thanks for the souvenir, nice!
Quoted from PinMonk:Most-likely this is your EOS switch. If the connection is not rock-solid it makes the flipper intermittently feel soft. Just adjust the switch so it makes a better connection.
Hmm, had a look and ran business card between the leaves. Seems to be working fine yet now I actually have the EOS error message!
I’m having a shit week with this machine (Demon’s fine now though! )
Quoted from PinMonk:Look at it while you slowly manipulate the flipper manually to activate the switch a few times. Sometimes the pads are making contact, but they're not flat, but slightly off-angle. For some reason KISS is touchier about this than most.
All good now after a fiddle - it updated the node board afterwards and all is well in KissLand. Thanks again!
I was just looking at the original promo blurb, what's this referring to?: "Blood-Spitting Demon Bass Solo player experience".
It's not Demon multiball as that's also on the list.
Something I've not uncovered yet? Or something not coded yet?
Quoted from joekiss:Anyone else embarrassed when other people play their game?
No, quite the opposite because it plays great. Understand your frustration and I hope you get your issue fixed but it’s inaccurate to suggest we’re all suffering from it.
Had first prolonged session on mine for a while yesterday. It’s such a fun, hectic, combo-tastic pin.
Welcome to the Kiss LE Club! There can’t be many of us in the UK.
I echo everything Pickle said (Love Gun light mod is great).
The light for Gene’s mouth too.
Oh, and in my experience, it’s not worth putting a Cliffy on the backstage pass entrance. Spoils the gameplay.
It’s a great pin - enjoy!
Ha! Just after singing its praises, mine’s developed a minor problem.
The Demon is making the “spit out” noise and the mechanism is firing, when it shouldn’t. With no balls locked.
It’s not constant, but frequent.
Any ideas anyone? Dirty/dodgy opto maybe?
Quoted from Shapeshifter:Mine did this when I first got it.
I can't remember exactly how it got fixed.
From memory it was one of the 3 sets of optos that do locks 1-3.
Think I cleaned them and generally jiggled them around - checking connectors etc.
Might have put a new opto in.
Coming back to me that wiggling cables I was able to work out which opto it was.
Good luck!
So...ulp, the head’s got to come off for this I guess?
Quoted from Shapeshifter:I know I never took the head off as I never figured out how to do it!
Just the top plastic as you can then see all the optos and start moving the wires around to try and isolate which one or set is the bad one.
Many thanks!
Found the bad one, found its connector underneath and reseated that. Seems fine now.
Quoted from pinballjah:Let me know what mods are a must. Thanks for the help!
Kimball’s Love Gun light mod
Mezel’s Demon mouth light
And you know about Capgun
Congrats!
