Quoted from thundergod76:

Pretty sure the hookup is in the backbox behind the power box cover located under the power supply.

I appreciate the input. Yes, I removed that cover held on by three screws and looked and looked there, but there is simply no connector behind the box to hook the cable to. Everything else pictured is there, but not a connector.

#1202 3 years ago

Here is a photo with the power box cover removed on my KISS. No hookup in sight.

My Kiss pro just developed an issue that I can't seem to figure out. The Gi lights just on the lower portion of the playfield flash or pulse briefly whenever I flip the flippers. The GI up top and on the rest of the machine is fine. It's just the lights in the slings, and the lights in the lanes. They are super bright and working fine otherwise, but as soon as I flip either flipper, they briefly pulse/flash. Anybody have any ideas? I bought the game new, and it still looks new. Very low plays. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Also, it's not the sockets because I replaced them all as a precaution

Hmmm according to the manual there should be something there...

Why not use the DBA pin out in the coin door on the I/O board?

#1206 3 years ago
Quoted from capguntrooper:

Why not use the DBA pin out in the coin door on the I/O board?

I really, really appreciate the suggestion, but my technical skills are moderate. Can you explain further?

#1207 3 years ago
Quoted from JOESCHALL:

Hello, KISS Army. In the unlikely event that any KISS owner is looking for an even trade and is near Pennsylvania, I'm interested in trading either my MBR LE or JP Premium for a KISS--any model of KISS is good as along as it's 100% working and has a Stern topper.
If interested, please PM me. If not, rock on.

so you want to trade a mble for a kiss pro with topper, even trade? is this what im reading?

#1208 3 years ago
Quoted from ccbiggsoo7:

That was correct, but the deal was already done as of Monday--sorry. I sold the MBR LE and bought a KISS LE.

Quoted from JOESCHALL:

inside coin door to the left you will see a little IO pcb and one of the pin sets is DBA but you will have to run the power wire to back box. See video.

#1210 3 years ago

Thanks for posting the video. I do appreciate it. It's somewhat helpful but actually skips past the technical hookup part and doesn't physically show how to accomplish it and on which of the orange-capped wires to achieve the hookup. So I wrote to Stern tech support with my photo and I got this answer from Patrick Powers.

"I’m suspecting your game has an international power harness and that is why you’re missing the additional harness connector. Please give me you mailing address and game’s serial number and I will send you the correct harness."

I'll update this post once the harness arrives and hopefully it will supply an easy solution.

Finally got a Kiss Premium after searching for 2 years. Anyone else notice this game hardly ever pops up for sale? Especially the premium.

Yep not many were made especially the Premiums. Neglected code early on just killed a now awesome game.

#1213 3 years ago

Game is way under rated. I get Kiss music/theme is not everyone’s cup of tea but the gameplay with updated code is makes it a really good game.

yep

i'm not a KISS music fan, but anyway this pin is on my wanted list

I think the problem with this pin and availability is that a lot of people that have it are more KISS music fans than pinball fans. I mean I like KISS well enough but not enough to have the game for that purpose alone. It is a great game with the new code

#1216 3 years ago

Code is great now and having authentic Gene call outs is such a bonus as it really gives the feel of being at a KISS concert.

If that is your thing!

I sold my LTD and bought a PRO. Rather have the extra cash in my pocket. The only thing I liked about the LTD was the backglass.

I had the pro a few years ago. Sold it then the next week new code dropped. It’s just fun and easy to figure out what to do.

#1219 3 years ago

great game for sure and I love the LE, but pinballjah, you have to miss the "mist multiball" ball moving across the backboard on the Pro?! Kiss is a very underrated game for sure.

Don't let this happen to you! Get your Star Child Protector!

It is a unique feature but I prefer the price point of Pros. Now if I had kept my gold stocks a bit longer, I may have been able to keep some limiteds in my collection

No. Just to compare the size against the old ones.

This is me.

I put together this Paul Stanley guitar display to go with my LE. These guitars were originally mass-produced for Target so you can get them for $200-300. I didn't feel I needed a PSA/DNA COA because these are typically sold with the original box and manufacturer (Lyon) COA. I was patient because I wanted an auto where he made a nice "star" at the end of his name. Bought the acrylic guitar case and custom nameplate on ebay too, modeled to look like ones you find at Hard Rock Cafe.

In my opinion, Kiss will no doubt be vaulted! I am a huge Kiss fan and I love my pro, it gets played the most in my collection.

Better get some protection for that Star Child Area, or has it already cracked and snapped off?

Still hanging in there after 200 odd plays, who is the good mod maker for this protector?

capguntrooper makes the Star Child plastic protector. I'm not huge into mods, but the best functional mod I've ever used.

Is this only required for the LTD/Premium or also the Pro? Thanks.

Quoted from pinballjah:

Yes, I don't think the pro has the pop up target that is on the prem/le model. That pop up will inevitably catch the ball, push it up and break the plastic.

This will happen to all PREM/LE owners at some point in time if a protector is not put in place

Was pretty happy to find a surprise on the Kiss Pro I recently picked up. A Gene Simmons autographed plastic. Not sure it adds value to the game but a nice feature.

Hey Kiss Fans,

Just wanna double check in case I screw things up!

Is is possible to upgrade the code intended for a standard Kiss LE onto a German Kiss LE ?

I want the DMD to display the ss bolts.
Cheers

No way would I even attempt that. You don't wanna risk blowing any node boards due to the Voltage differences.

Quoted from thundergod76:

Thanks for your response, I believe the output voltage to the boards is identical.
It’s just the difference of input voltage and the frequency 50 vs 60 hertz.
Remember - for all other pins the same code works on US pins as it does on UK/Euro Pins.
