I recently sold a Gottlieb King Pin to a guy in Houston. He says that the right kickout hole at the top of the playfield does not kick the ball out most of the time (the ball just sits there — it doesn’t try to kick it out) AND the playfield loses power. (!)

The playfield losing power to me sounds like it’s tilting, but I can’t imagine why the ball going into the right kickout hole would cause that. Any ideas at all? He’s four hours away for me, so I’m trying to diagnose over the phone to a guy who has no knowledge of pinball machines.

If the ball is not kicking out of the hole, I would check the usual things like whether the switch is making contact, whether it’s clean, or whether there’s maybe a broken solder joint or something. But the fact that it’s also causing the playfield to lose power seems crazy to me.
