Kickout bracket welds broke - repair with JB weld?

    The circled bracket in the image belowwhich was attached to the kickout on my x-files broke loose. I have no welding skills, so wondering which of the following options would be best.

    1) drill a couple small holes and attach with some machined screws
    2) use JB weld (or something similar).

    I'm sure option 1 is the better repair in the long run, but option 2 is much easier, and a bit more forgiving (if it breaks again, I can always just re-glue or go back to option 1. Also, that bracket really shouldn't take much direct force as long as the coil is aligned properly...

    so is there any draw backs i'm not thinking about here to just go ahead and use JB weld?

    JB Weld will never last, maybe a kick or two.

    Find someone to weld it for you.
