I am starting this thread to talk about Kevin Ketchum, the owner of Klassic Arcade and Klassic Arcade 2.0. I want to say I've know Kevin for 15+ years. Our friendship started when I was watching over the Pinball Express (Chris Werfel) booth at Pinball Expo and Kevin's booth for K&K Amusements was the right next to his. Anyway, we struck up a conversation and we've been talking ever since! He organizes the Pinball at the Zoo show in Kalamazoo and is a stand-up guy. I am glad to call him a friend and I suggest that if anyone here finds themselves near Gobles, Michigan to visit one (or now both) of his arcades! His positive energy about the hobby is absolutely contagious and this a good thing.

Hardy har...this is going to be interesting.
EDIT: I'd work on a better title.

    #3 1 year ago

Great guy with some old school games and videos. Grand opening June 30, 2017!

    #4 1 year ago

Is he into pirate costumes by chance?

    #5 1 year ago

I came here also expecting this to be about Kevin kulek. This thread is quickly going off topic with that thread title.

    #6 1 year ago

You should definitely put the business name in the title instead. Unfortunately another "Kevin K." from Michigan jumps to mind first...

    #7 1 year ago

Definitely, you need to change the title of the thread. Stating Kevin K. in Michigan is always going to lead people to think about the wannabe pirate Kevin K. (the pin con from Pinnconning).

Thanks for the suggestion, it has been changed.

Good for him, PATZ is a classy event and more power to him!

Yes, I have personally enjoyed the show for over a decade. He is one of the most pleasant and honest people I've met in all my years involved in the hobby. I should have given more thought to the title, I was trying to not make it too long but that was a mistake. Now I have to checkout that RC track at the now "original" Klassic Arcade one of these days...

Ha never raced an RC car before I bet it's pretty cool. I was the poor kid that couldn't afford a Frog or Grasshopper racer as a kid

Just kidding I was rich I just didn't have one.

    #12 1 year ago

Grasshopper was the beast (and the best) - I still have mine in a box somewhere.

I ran a Team Associated RC-10 Graphite with Futaba controller back in 1989 when it first came out. I still have it.

I had a fully modified Super Blackfoot version in my 30s. (Not mine-stock photo)

It could jump 20 feet off a ramp, tumble down the hill, and make it back up for another run.

Kevin is a great friend and I'm glad to know him. Kevin is having a Grand Opening tomorrow at 12 noon at his new arcade location in downtown Gobles. This would be a great weekend to check out the new arcade! Good Luck Kevin!

Grand opening lines up with my trip to Michigan tomorrow, perfect!

    #17 1 year ago

Oh man wish I didn't have a kid or I'd be there!!!

    Umm er I mean Job.

Got to check the place out last night and it looked great. Enjoyed a delicious cream soda, played about 25 different pins I'd say. Lots of older stuff that I hadn't seen before. Really had a good time, and all for only $5 admission. Strongly encourage anyone who is interested to go and check the place out.

Cool place I like the exotic soda, beverage idea!

I had the chance to see the Klassic Arcade 2.0 today in person. Here are some pictures from the new location!

    Thanks Marcus!
Place looks sweet. I gotta get up there.
I really like the menu board sitting on top of the soda coolers in the second picture. I wonder who could have been playing around with that?

    #22 1 year ago

WOW!! $5 to play all day, at both arcades, that's awesome!!

    #23 1 year ago

I've been to PATZ many times, i think i was at the first or second then a number of years before i rediscovered it. I hadn't been to Klassic until a month ago. Great Place. Kevin has never been anything but nice anytime i have ever talked to him. Now i need to get to 2.0.

I had and still have a Frog. That was the best car, after i modified to keep the "dog bones" in place.

Not sure if that's a good model 5$ a day.

Even back in the day 80s. We would spend minimum of 5$. It was usually more like 10$ as they had coupons for 20$ of tokens for 10$.

The price seems like a losing proposition with all the wear and tare on machines.

With an entry that low, the soda counter seems always full. Hell, I spend $15-$20 every time I go on food, tokens (for the kids) and pretzels or popcorn.

I plan to make a drive up from Indiana Saturday. The 1st location was plenty of fun so why not check out 2 on the same trip? I just need to pace myself & family on the soda pop. Too many stomachaches from too many pops but well worth it!
